Let me start by saying this thread is not about who's better. Rigondeaux is clearly better at this point. He has better foot work, accuracy, and he's more comfortable in the ring. Lets not forget about the belt around his waist.

This is also is not a thread about who has the better lead left or overall left hand, again that's Rigondeaux. Let's talk about who has the better COUNTER LEFT HAND at this point.

A friend and I were debating. They both encourage you to throw the right hand so they can come across with the lefts. Gary's is more of a slip or a pull then counter. Rigondeaux's is based more on timing and foot placement. At least that's what I think.

Russell Jr. has a better counter left hand and he's a better fighter too.

Rigondeaux is 30 something right now. So in two years he could be out his prime or just peaking who knows. I do know he doesn't have that much time on his hands do to his late start in the pros

It's crazy how so many people are on Rigo's nuts when Russell would whup that ass.

Gary is a personal friend from the hood. Although, he has a bigger tool box than Rigondeaux, his tools ain't as polished yet. Give him another year at least. Rigondeaux is the better fighter at the moment.

Sounds like Rigondeaux has haters already. I say Guillermo has the better everything. We're talking as of right now so save the potential talk. That is not to say Russell is lame by any stretch of the imagination. The guy is very good, just not on that level.

I think Rigo has the better counter left hand. Better timing and more accurate but it's close.

Rigo is a genius in that ring, no one compares to him in that weight class. Comparing Russell with Rigo is an insult.

Rigondeaux is a better skilled fighter. Sure Russell has the potential to be better but he needs a few more years to just match the timing and accuracy of Guillermo.
