Prime Tyson would stop Prime Holyfield in the early rounds.

Some people can't seem to get it. Gets irritating at times. Holyfield was better equipped in '96 after getting the experience he needed fighting a who's who from the heavyweight division. He faced everybody that mattered while Tyson was rotting away in prison. Tyson fought less than 8 rounds against walkovers while developing negative habits with moronic trainers.

    These aren't excuses either.

    Probably & it's ridiculous.

Yes Tyson lost to Douglas, on a night where Douglas had his best night while Tyson had his worst. But Douglas was a big guy with long arms. Holyfield, although taller than Tyson was basically smaller. Yes he could box well & had good skills, but he didn't have the power to hurt Tyson, or the discipline to box for 12 rounds.

Once Tyson catches him early, or hits him low or after the bell, Holy reverts to brawling, There's only gonna be one winner then.

Also Tyson looked sloppy at times in the Ruddock re-match, mostly because he wanted the Holyfield fight & not a Ruddock re-match, he badly wanted Holyfield & would've been in great shape mentally & physically.

No I mean kudos to Holyfield for taking his chance, he fought a good fight......against an inept & amateurish Tyson, who wasn't even in good shape because he'd spent most of the previous few weeks in court fighting Rooney over money.

Oh no, I got what you meant. Just adding on to it, that's all.:good

Tyson took Seldon more seriously than he did Holyfield.

Yep, like everyone else at the time he thought Holy was shot to ****, which given his previous performance against bobby was a fair assumption

There was some weird **** going on behind closed doors involving King and Ruddock. There's the book by Tyson's former bodyguard, Rudy Gonzalez, where he wrote about an incident at Tyson's private headquarters. Crazy stuff.

And it's due to the huge odds that I personally feel the need to give Holyfield a fair amount of credit for the win. Hell, Tyson was 45-1 going in and pretty much the highest rated heavyweight in the world. I actually like Evander quite a lot as well.

Yeah no doubt, wasn't his fault the fight was postponed in 1991.

Although I will add that when the fight was postponed when Tyson injured his rib, King tried very hard to re-schedule before Tyson went to trial, & the Duvas did everything to avoid re-scheduling. Obviously they weren't as confident as Holyfield.

I'd take it with a pinch of salt tbh, although he was quite volatile at the time.
