Victor Ortiz will beat Lopez. Calling it right now.

When he's on his game, Ortiz is one bad dude. But he can also be inconsistent. This can happen with some athletes though, imo, and as they reach a certain age… usually mid 20's or over and begin to mature personally/professionally, they find consistency in their performances. If Ortiz can emulate his Berto bashing best one fight after another and not succumb to lapses in concentration a la Mayweather, then he is a worry for pretty much everyone. Contrast this with Josesito Lopez who is good, but not spectacular, imo. Lopez gave Jessie Vargas a run for his money in what I saw as a fairly even contest, maybe even edging toward Lopez. However, I don't see any greatness in Vargas either. Even an 80 percent on point Ortiz would be too tough for Lopez so calling a victory for him is not really like calling a Bradley split decision over Pacquiao!

I like Ortiz. Some may see him as a little odd, but he strikes me as the kind of guy who is young and out to enjoy his life. He's intentionally/unintentionally very funny and damn, when he's in the ring, it's exciting. There's little to dislike about him and, like I alluded to earlier, I think the best is yet to come.
