Cammarale victory was a REAL achievement, that said he does look sloppy at times and I think he might be getting a little too much hype in some circles.

But i guess all will be revealed next month

 

Pretty new to the sport and shown alot of natural talent. Meant to be a really nice lad as well although I've never met him, one of my close friends started training about the same time he started taking it seriously and was always giving him encouragement and that. Haven't heard anyone say a bad word about him as a person and thats a good start considering the amount of hype hes getting and going to get if he does well at the olympics.

Hes still very new to boxing and is at a great gym at the moment so who knows how far he can go.

 

he's very young and green but has natural athleticism which could take him quite far domestically.

cant really assess how far he'll go beyond that until he turns pro

 

No-one knows he's still amateur and I guess people will view him differently, I saw him in the worlds for he first time and I thought he shouldn have won gold, looks pretty talented and athletic for a big lad!

 

Dillian Whytes amateur debut fight was against Anthony Joshua and he put Joshua on the canvas and won comfortably on points.
Dillian only had another 6/7 fights,winning them all,as an amateur before the board starting causing problems over his paid MMA background so he turned professional.
Whyte v Joshua could be a very good domestic match up in the future.

He has some natural ability and physical gifts that mean it would have been great if he had started boxing at around 13 or 14 rather than so late. As it is now, he is pretty raw and I was only impressed given how new he was to the sport. Taken purely on how he boxes with no knowledge on experience etc, you would say that he is decent but a bit sloppy and to easy to hit.

His power looks decent, but nothing special like some make it out to be and he has been stopped, so question marks over his chin. That said he is young and will definitely fill out more and punch resistance could go up a good deal, as we saw with the likes of Tua from young am to older pro.

Joshua has pretty quick hands for a man his size, has a good jab when he uses it and offensively seems to judge distance pretty well. I am certainly interested to see how he develops but he really needs to take his time once he turns pro. Ironically he might make a much better pro if he does not do much in the Olympics. If he was to win, he would be having to go on TV and not be able to quietly learn his trade with sensible and beneficial match making.

The good news is that he is young and the physical gifts he has seem enough to trouble good amateur fighters even though Joshua has not yet learnt how to make the absolute best of his abilities. He may well have come on a great deal by the time he hits the Olympics, as the change in someone like Eubank Jr in the space of 9 months was very marked.

 

Anthony Joshua is a very good prospect, he should have got the decision in the final at the worlds and probably has a good chance of getting a medal in London, if that medal is gold, it will be interesting to see how much money the lad makes.

 

how long ago was this because i know joshua has only been boxing a short amount of time himself hes a top lad and cracking talent, hes given fury problems in sparing which fury talked openly about and while hes been training at the eis in shefield hes come on leaps and bounds i mean he has mckracken as coach and some of the best fasilities in the world down there so its a great platform to start, hes only going to get better and better, he won silver at the worlds and most the top ams come from countries that pay the ams more than the pros so most of them in their prime late 20's, joshua is still a baby and considering he works hard and stays grounded will be a top pro

he got a silver medal in the world amateur championships after only 34 fights and handful of those being at international. if this guys name was mikalovic demecnhicov or tashioki nioshiaka some of you bellends would be creaming your pants.

 

Who? Who is being a hater? Pretty much everyone has said good things but tempered them with realistic truths. Nobody should expect him to be the finished article at this stage, let alone with how little time he has been in the game. But by the same token it is stupid to start hyping him as some monster or awesome talent when so far the evidence doesn't point to that, but points to a talented and very promising prospect who has clear gifts and yet currently clear flaws.

Which posters are you referring to that would be falling over themselves with praise if he was Eastern European or Japanese?

 

He looks to have natural ability, bit raw. No guarantee's that he'll be the next Lennox. Long way to go, so many bridges to cross. The kid's humble and looks strong but i think sometimes we try tag fighters to early.

Let him be his own man, and i'm sure he'll do just fine.

 

Tyson fury admitted to bunce that Joshua knocked him all over the ring he rates him very highly.
