Dont understand why people cant grasp this simple concept...Who cares if he isnt a champ at 168...thats pointless(as other have shamelessly tried to bring up:-()...Dawson has the better chance to upset Ward than Bute! Thats a fact thats rather hard to dispute.
In fairness Pimp, Ward never dared travel like Bute did. So we dont know if Ward would sink or swim when in Europe. American and Canadian based SMWs seem to crumble in big fights in Europe. I dont know why? I was at Froch/Bute and the crowd was electric. We dont know if Ward would handle this
Fighters should not be judged by one fight alone, especially when they come up short against a fighter of Froch's caliber. Just because Ward dominated Froch and Froch dominated Bute does not automatically mean Ward would have decimated Bute. Not one person can look into the future and definatively predict that Bute was going to so epically fall flat on his face. The fight should of happened and its still wrong that it didnt despite Bute ultimately losing. In hindsight the Froch vs Bute fight was not relevent and didnt need to happen before the Ward vs Bute faceoff, its so very unfortunate for Ward and Bute that things played out the way they did depending on what angle you look at things. It was a pointless cog put into the works that ultimately broke the mechanics of a massive fight. Props must go to Froch for pulling that out of the bag, i wrote him off like so many and he produced a career best performance. People talk as if Bute failed, it would be far nicer if people talked about Froch succeeding. Sorry about the misunderstanding, i dont think Ward was scared of Bute by any stretch but i do believe he saw Bute as too much of a risky option at that point in time to face. Its difficult to explain with Bute because the super 6 so clearly affected the opponents he was able to face. I certainly believe that he was proven enough to take on Ward by the time the fight was open to be made. Bute had already beaten Bika and Miranda (both possibly more impressively than what Ward had managed) plus some solid B level guys like Berrio, Andrade and Johnson. Not fantastic but certainly nothing to sneer about given the best talent was all but tied up elsewhere at the time.
it was a dominating win. one round doesnt determine a fight. he dominated bika for the majority of the rounds. difference of a opinion.
I see it as a 50/50 fight myself, i do not dispute your opinion but i do think Bute is better than people are giving him credit for.
i'm not pretending. he's been my favorite fighter since his fight with pascal. I then downloaded and watched every available fight of his from before that, and i've seen every one since. he's my favorite fighter. I'm not going to let you slight andre ward though. we'll argue foreveer because I simply wont let it happen without you being called out for it, by me, believe that.
bute does not have elite level physical strength as carl froch showed in their fight. he was absolutely bullied easily, froch said it himself that he was surprised how easily he was able to bully bute. ward was able to bully froch. I believe ward will be able to bully bute on the inside with little resistance, that's if bute re-establishes himself as a legitimate challenger to ward's throne. he was on the outside looking into the super middleweight elite, and when he took the acid test, he failed terrifically against the second best super middleweight. accept it, or continue slighting andre ward.
i've responded to every single thing you said above, previously. all we're doing is going in circles at this point, reiterating points that were long ago stated. i'm bowing out, it's clear that neither of our opinions are going to change. I know mine wont.
It was a dominating performance, with rough spots, but dominant overall. I dont think bika one more than 3 rounds clearly. dominant win. like I said, difference of opinion.
