You must show me where I have slighted Ward. I have to my knowledge only said what I think is correct. If something is incorrect, by all means correct me. But you havent done that.
You are now on the if A beats B and B beats C then A must beat C, but that doesnt always happen that way.
You comment on Bute being dominated by Froch, but that was the first time Bute was the away fighter in a big fight. Before that Bute hadnt been dominated even if he did have a bad last round against Andrade, he wasnt dominated. Before fighting away to Froch, Bute had looked the winner clearly in the majority of his fights. Ward hasnt been in the situation that Bute was in, so its unfair to compare.

Remember with your A, B, C theory that Bute looked a clearer winner than Ward in their common opponents

listen, there is no correcting, that's what you are either choosing to avoid or you simply don't understand. all you've stated is opinion after opinion that slights ward. the only fact you've stated is that ward did not face bute. everything else has been an opinion, and you've slighted ward by not giving him the credit he deserves while simultaneously highlighting what you deem to be negative aspects of his recent career.

secondly, i'm not on the A, B, C theory at all. you're completely wrong about that. I SIMPLY believe that andre ward would stylistically be able to beat lucian bute convincingly, and that is all. my opinion does not come as a result of plugging fighters into a theory. you do not agree with that, fine. difference of opinion. ward hasn't been in the situation bute has been in, but he has faced greater opposition overall and has emerged as the best super middleweight on the planet. the home and away issue does not mean as much to me as it does to you. once again, a difference of opinion. you wont change my opinion, one, and secondly, I think your opinions are jaded, possibly because you're english. there's obviously no way for me to prove that, but i'll stick to my guns on that one.

I think this is a fair post.
The one thing I would disagree with was the idea of Ward thinking Bute too risky. I don't get that sense at all. I know it makes for nice chat and all, but I can't see why a guy would tell a guy to go fight a proven guy, presumably only to fight him after he did fight and beat that proven guy. Froch had other ideas.

Ward could have fought Bute and chose not to. Why.
Ward then said after Bute was signed to fight Froch that he would have been willing and he was just trying to hype it, which seemed odd as before he said Bute had to fight someone else.
I forget the exact words so wont make it up and not get it 100% correct, but when ward mentioned the possibility of Bute, he didnt sound confident.

Oh god :patsch yes because Dawson is black is because he isn't as good a win as an unbeaten Bute, to unify the division would have been.

I definitely think he was trying to let the fight build up, and to let the contract situation with Showtime work itself out so as to get the most out of it. I was saying this at the time it happened, and I still believe it.

Even so, why would Ward be afraid to fight a guy(especially with no other very big paydays on the horizon) only to presumably fight him after he had beaten another top fighter? Now, it did end up backfiring, because no Bute payday for Ward, but hey, them's the breaks.

It's not like he is going for a soft touch now in Dawson. Ward does not seem to avoid the tough fights. He may want all his fights at home, but that's a different story. Hell, he took a risky fight in Bika when an easier replacement could have easily been thrown in.

It would have been 12 rounds of brutal outclassing. I love how people are trying to spin this into Ward = Fraud now that the Hypejob Bute has fallen and Ward is undisputed #1 at 168. People are really suggesting that Ward beat Froch because of the fight location? Please.

it's not even debatable. even if Bute beat Froch he would not be on Dawson's level and this coming from a Canadian and a big Bute fan. Dawson is not only obviously the better fighter but his resume spanks Bute's.

That said it was obvious that pre Froch Ward wasn't interested in making this fight which annoys the **** out of me. I think Ward would win a close fight but shame it never happened cause Bute's 0 sure would have been a nice mark on Wards resume and stylistically Bute presents a lot more trouble for Ward than he did to Froch or anyone else with big power and granite chin that will eat Butes best and unleash a relentless assault on him.
