I try to stay as unbiased as possible but hey its boxing, I like most have my favorites and people I root for no matter who they face but I also try to at least be rational with what I say. The Floyed/Cotto fight is a great example, I knew that the outcome of the fight was pretty much set in stone before the fight but that didnt change the fact that I was rooting for Cotto through out the whole night
Really any fighter that's stepped in the ring I respect because the training is so grueling and it takes guts. Sometimes I may play along, owning *******s, but I will never have hate for Manny or any fighter tho there are/were some scum human beings. What Monzon, Butler, Hilton, and Valero did was unforgiveable. I still got love for Monzon, but those things are never forgotten especially when innocents are involved.
After scoring the JLCI fight it was for JLC but all 3 Pac vs Marquez fights were scored for JMM.... Also everyone else scoring the Floyd vs JLC fight in the room either drawed it or gave it to PBF!
Keep in mind that most posters in this forum are casuals fans or just kids trolling. The *******-***** syndrome is related to it.
For the record, IMO, Floyd bet Castillo or got a draw, but it was very very close. JMM bet Pacquiao in the 2nd and 3rd fight. Pac got the first. :good
Most of those people are not true boxing fans. I like the Klitschkos and Haye and I like Floyd and Pac both(maybe Pac a little more :yep)
Now people I respect have scored it that way but am I wrong in thinking after the 3 KD's that it was at least 6-4 JMM?
i made a thread like this in another forum years ago. i pointed out that there are fight fans and fighter fans. i am a fight fan....but i guess i started out a fighter fan. i was learning the sport before i actually watched it. ali and roberto duran were the two fighters that brought me to the sport...once their careers passed....i searched out the next star....then over time, i learned to love boxing through watching and participating. there are some fighters that i appreciate more than others....but i respect them all. i also see through their bull****. i would not categorize myself as a ******* or a *****. i've pointed out what i believe to be bull**** by both. i was rooting against both in their last fights because i believe the fight between them is/was made out to be something that i don't believe it ever was....the greatest fight in all of boxing. both are guilty of strategically picking opponents. both are good. i'm just ready to move to the next wave of talent.
I get what you mean 100%. I got into boxing when I joined a boxing gym. First fight I actually watched as a boxing fan was Haye - Faudly! atsch After that disgraceful "fight" I discovered the real usage of the internet. Morales, Gatti, Floyd, Pac, Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Corallas, Castillo and many many more fighters amazed me. The first good, live, fight I watched was Khan - Maidana. I fell in love with RJJ for a while, but after hearing about his apparent roid abuse (and seeing his disgraceful chin:rofl:rofl), I stopped liking him a fair bit. I have matured a lot and am now a fight fan, rather than a fighter fan, like you put it. I like the sport and the only fighters I dislike are cheaters or ped users.
I actually agree with you. If I despise Floyd Mayweather, it doesn't mean I'm a ****ing *******. I've despised Mayweather LOOOOOONNNNNG before Pacquiao ever even factored into the equation. And I've openly criticized Pac about **** too.
