It wouldn't help you during the fight. But leading up to it hell yea. It allows you to work at an alarming rate. Plus it helps you recover.

Thank you. People wanna pick and choose what is ok and what is not. Cocaine is known as a mild stimulant

Now Calzaghe(WTF?), I mean this going through that line where there is no way back. Tarver is doing a great job at Showtime and Joey is an icon for all you Welsh and British men. This guys want to destroy themselves? Is that what is the bottom line? B'cause they are destroying our memories of their great fights, why they simply don't put their feet in their mouths or confess to the priests? This can't be serious, they can't really be PEDs, it must have been vitamins and protein substances that are not banned and people are exploiting this and giving wrong facts... Basically what r you m***as about, you want to kill the sport, is that it?

All banned substances are not created equal.

For instance, certain masking agents, which are harmless on their own, are banned. A fighter could inadvertantly take one of those, an anabolic steroid is a whole other animal.

Besides, Calzaghe didn't get down until he retired I believe.

    You're right, but it's a mild stimulant.

Calzaghe was as clean as a whistle. He only took coke when he retired. The OP is just another butt-hurt racist ***** who can't get over the fact that a skinny little steroid free white boy bashed up all his juiced-up black idols. He's trying to deflect away from the fact that all these cheating black Yanks have been caught out recently. :|:|:|

''In athletics drug cheats get banned automatically for two years, and if steroids can make athletes run faster, they can surely help a boxer to hit harder and to hit for longer and this will enable them to inflict more punishment, which I think is repulsive. During our pre-fight medicals we get tested for drugs and it's never crossed my mind to take anything performance-enhancing. I don't have a big pot of pills that I dip into all hours of the day. In fact, I have a job just to remind myself to take vitamins.

''I would be angry if someone I fought took something that gave him an unfair advantage because this is a dangerous sport, it's not like running. In athletics it now seems almost part of the culture, just like cycling, and the who idea isto stay one step ahead of testing. I sat alongside ****** Gatlin, at the time the reigning Olympic 100m champion, on the BBC's Question of Sport about a year ago and spoke to him afterwards. We talked about the Jeff Lacy fight because he's from Florida as well and he seemed like a really nice guy and I was genuinely shocked and disappointed when he failed a drugs test last summer. Whenever I watch athletics or cycling now I have my suspicions. Some get caught and some don't but I like to think that fighters are clean. Boxing's a warrior sport and, to me, there have always been values that go along with that.

''It's cheating there's no other word for it.'' - Joe Calzaghe

Seriously, who cares if he used PEDs or not. Look at who he fought, the best on the list by far is Kessler followed by a green Lacy.

Cocaine isn't going to improve anyone's performance.
