Oscar could easily have taken 5 rounds that fight. The only judge that gave oscar only 4 rounds actually had Oscar winning the 12th round. 2 judges actually gave oscar the 12th round. Pretty good for an aging gassed out fighter.
2 judges also scored rounds 2,3,4 and 7 both for oscar. Which makes sense considering emmauel, floyd's biggest cheerleader said after 7 rounds if Mayweather doesn't pick it up he's going to lose. Floyds corner at this time were also telling floyd "dont worry, we will get him later" Cause Floyd knew he was losing at that point and needed to reassure Floyd.
So give oscar even one round 8-12 and he just won 5 rounds.

I'd have to give it to Oscar. Prime Oscar's jab was much more authoritative back then and he was physically more explosive

    but predictions are just predictions

With better luck on his side Oscar would have victories over Trinidad and Mosley. Its a shame looking back on Oscar's career that he doesnt have that one big defining victory. I think De La Hoya had the right blend of power, speed, precision and fire to get the W over Mayweather, be it a decision or by stoppage.

Score it yourself. A split decision was very generous towards oscar. He chose Floyds gloves for him, and chose the division (154lbs).

Thats the ONLY reason why I gave Oscar the nod. The only weapon he would have over Floyd would be the jab.

Oscar in his whole career has only been out jabbed by one persona and that was Quartey (which I think he lost to) and the judges still had Oscar winning by SD.

he took his jab away though.....whats funny is that Oscar claims he stopped throwing his jab but he threw more jabs after the 6th round then he did in the first 6....Oscar would never beat Mayweather, even with his pillow gloves and small ring
