The Guzman that he fought at 130 was the best fighter he ever faced.

I'm scared for Lucas, Soto was hurting him with some not hard thrown counters. I hope his punch resistance isn't fading.

yeah that would be great. Maidana is useless at 147 anyway so now a fight between them would be great.

I think evreything caught up with Soto tonight. Moving up in weight classes, lots of years in the game, too long fighting guys who didn't challenge him and the pressure of Matthyse. He still looked sharp but them body shots where really hurting, you could tell bu his expression

Gus should shut the **** up, don't try to compare your bull**** lies to the memories of a man who knew the deceased.

Matthysse BOSSED his post-fight interview!! :rofl

Jim Gray asked if he felt he needed the KO.

His answer, in Spanish, essentially translated to "Hell yeah I needed to knock him out to win".

Then he's asked how he got through the early barrages from Soto and he responds with "no no no no," as if it's silly to suggest those bothered him in the least, although he does give Soto credit for his skills.

He's asked if this is the best performance of his career. He says it's up there with his performances against Judah and Alexander, which he feels were his best, but this was the best one that wasn't left in the judges' hands.:lol:

Let's not discount that Matthysse is a bigger man and Soto was moving up. Soto couldn't hurt him and he just got beat to a pulp by the better fighter.

Matthysse beats everyone at 140, along with guys like Berto, Ortiz and Alexander again at 147.

    Scores at time of stoppage:

Matthysse up on two cards, 48-46.

James Jen Kin had it a 47-47 draw.

Tough decisions for Soto: Kill himself making 135 or get outgunned at 140...
