You are right on that one ! We need the likes of Tarver, Petereson,Berto etc etc ... Besides Ortiz just sucks as a fighter, look at how lame he was against Berto !!

I can tell some of you kids are here are young...Several Fighters have suffered broken Jaws and kept on fighting. It is part of what you sign up for.

Ortiz is a total Fraud who was pushed down our throats because he was signed to a power promotional company. He isn't a fighter and has many deficiencies such as a Glass Jaw, no Heart, and is extremely mentally weak. We have seen this is MULTIPLE fights now.

When will you idiots learn? When? How many times does this clown have to quit in a fight? He could have erased his previous quit jobs by hanging in there and finishing the fight but he didn't he quit. Again.

Victor needs to look for a new line of work because he isn't a fighter.

    nah......

he had his jaw broken. doesn't matter if he quit while others have continued with a broken jaw.

    he is a fraud.

he embarassed himself by losing to late replacement lopez, he embarassed himself by quitting against maidana , he embarassed himself by the stupidity in the floyd fight.....

but i ain't gonna hold quitting because of broken jaw against him.

his jaw. his injury. only he and his doctor knows for sure if he could have or should have continured.

A champion gets on his bicycle for 3 rounds and finishes the fight out.

    depends on which champion.

we all know victor is not of that sort.

laugh at him for his stupidity. laugh at him for his embarassing loss.

but to say "it's just a broken jaw" is far easier to say on a computer than in the ring.

Ortiz had a chance to show everyone what he was made of but he Quit again. The sad thing is this guy will be back on TV again because he is with Golden Boy while other deserving fighters will have to wait in line for a big TV fight.

I am sick and tired of Golden Boy and their hype job fighters. Sick of it.

lots of tough guys on these boards. :) i bet all of you have a combined undefeated record in the ring, 0-0. anyone that gets in the ring and risks their life deserves respect. with that said, ortiz does seem to have the golota syndrome. he's never been in a good place mentally for a pro fighter.

Whatever the doubts about his chin and heart, Ortiz is consistently one of the most exciting fighters in the sport.

So you think Ortiz should get millions of dollars but he can't fight with a broken jaw? People doing construction work fight harder. People in the military fight harder. Cops take a bullet and go back to work. People in many professions are tougher than Ortiz.

Fighting hurt is part of any sport. You had Bradley who fought with a twisted ankle, you had Abraham and Ali fight with broken jaws for many more rounds, you had Roy Jones Jr fight and beat guys like Bernard Hopkins with a broken hand.

A broken hand is a lot more painful than a broken jaw, yet boxers fight through the pain. They do this because the fans are what make the sport as big as it is and fans HATE quitters. Even if you never win the big fights, if you give it your all and you never quit you gain respect. What Ortiz is doing costs him respect as a man and as a boxer.

Who the **** quits willingly? It's one thing if the doctor says you gotta quit like with Margarito but this Ortiz guy quits willingly. That's just cowardly.

If you don't want to risk your life don't step in the ring.

It's not about ring records. It's about whether or not we'd have quit in the 10th round of a 12 round fight over a broken jaw. Honestly if I were being paid millions of dollars and millions more are on the line, I'd rather get KO'd than quit.

At least if he would have got knocked out he could say he gave it his all. When you quit you didn't give it all you had to give. It shows you don't really love the sport.

There are doctors in the ring who should decide when to stop a fight as well as the ref. They didn't stop the fight, Ortiz stopped it himself. That shows Ortiz is a quitter. It's not his first time.

When you're getting paid millions of dollars but you quit over a broken jaw you're a ***** period. Most people in here would risk their lives for the sort of millions Ortiz was lucky enough to make but Ortiz can't risk a broken jaw?

There are guys going to war risking their lives in the military, some of them wont come back, none of them make millions of dollars, but Ortiz quits over a broken jaw?

Face it, the guy is a wimp. He quit in the Mayweather fight. He was hurt but he wasn't that hurt, he looked like he threw the fight. He quit prior to that because his face was getting bruised. ORTIZ IS A ****ING QUTTER, deal with it.
