Corner was smart to stop the fight. Broken jaw, come on man, who here would even drive to work with a broken jaw, much less have someone pound on it all night.

Give Soto's corner props as well. They realized Humberto was out of it and rather than slap him awake, they saved him from more punishment.

Jesus Christ you guys must think the TV show Spartacus was reality TV.

I'm no fan of Ortiz. But **** the guys jaw was snapped, apparently his sternum too, but beyond that, he either had a severe cut in his mouth to go with his jaw, or his damn bone popped through his gums, he was spitting thick amounts of blood. I don't really see this as quitting, Lopez just beat him fair and square, and I didn't hear Victor make any excuses for it either, he congratulated Lopez after the fight.
But I'm sure all these haters would easily fight on to the death, ha ha.

This isn't directed at you personally but Floyd fights Castillo at his weight with a torn rotator cuff and gets a broken rib in the fight and kept fighting. Paulie has already been mentioned. Morales literraly fought Maidana with 1 eye closed. Vasquez had his face ripped apart against Marquez and still would have continued to fight, etc...

Again, ill never call a PRO FIGHTER a coward but with that being said this guy quits too much (Maidana, Floyd and now Lopez) . And its funny how he gets this sympathy between his ego and his dirty tactics (headbutt against Floyd and blatant punch in back of Lopez' head)

Fractured Sturnum? In all my years of watching boxing iv never heard of an injury like that? I'm not sure its possible for someone to punch hard enough to fracture the Sturnum which is a very large bone? Anyway Ortiz did the right thing. Fighting with a broke jaw is simply stupid. I remember when Abraham broke his badly and i thought that was incredibly stupid of him fighting on when you could see his jaw literally just hanging off. Thats not brave. Thats stupid.

Not denying that buddy. But iv never heard of anyone hitting hard enough or often enough to be able to fracture a bone as large as that.

Yeah its just a rumour its not what actually happened. Either way Ortiz wasnt built for this sport, can you imagine Mayweather asking the ref to stop a fight :dead

Lol there is NO COMPARISON to Cintron. . . As a fan, I would never expect a boxer to put his health on the line like that. . .

We shouldn't "EXPECT" boxers to continue with injuries like this. . The one that do, just deserve that extra respect, and warrior status. . . But if a boxer does pull himself out, then that's fine with me. . . I wouldn't expect him to risk PERMANENT INJURY for my entertainment. .

Not to mention, Ortiz gave us 9 rounds of ACTION PACKED ENTERTAINMENT. ..

I don't know where this "Ortiz *****" **** comes from. . . The one incident against Maidana, like 4 years ago, where even in that fight, it was pretty clear he was done. . And he put up a hell of a fight FOR US FANS to enjoy.

I guess people have forgot aboutt he BERTO FIGHT. . .

Either fans are gullible or our favourite athletes are idiots. There's no way ANY man can fight with a broken ankle. Physically its simply impossible and the pain would be excruciating. You certainly would not be able to put any weight on it.
I don't know why Bradley said that nor why anyone believed it. Kind of reminds me of when Tyson said his back was broke.
