**** it, make it happen. Canelo is becoming a jinx. His opponents keep falling. Sept 15 seems impossible.

I think now that Ortiz the Mexican bum is out, they can reschedule to a paternal date without looking bad.

After attending Saturday’s night card at Staples Center in Los Angeles, Marcos Maidana wants the opportunity to*fill the open spot*by facing WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez*on September 15.

“It was a great card. Great wins from Lucas Matthysse and Josesito Lopez. Now it’s my turn and I want it to be against Canelo Alvarez. That’s the opponent I want,” Maidana said.

After Victor Ortiz's upset loss against Josesito Lopez, Maidana knows the window was left open for a worthy foe for Canelo*and he wants to jump right at it.

“All I say is they are looking for a fight for Canelo and I want Canelo. I told*that to Oscar de la Hoya in person last night. I know some might say that he’s too big for me and I say I like the challenge because Canelo likes to fight and so do I. Styles make fights and it would be a war. A war that I can win,” Maidana added.

“I feel like I need vindication from the loss against Devon Alexander. And vindication can only be achieved by getting great victories against great opponents. Regardless of the weight I know I can knock Canelo out. I like the toughest challenges,” Maidana added.

Dude's crazy. After losing to Alexander he claimed he was going back to 140 because 147lbs was not good for him.How can he go to 154 when he's never won a fight at 147lbs.
    Canelo would kill him.

Make it happen? A jr welter vs a jr middle.? Seriously ?
Maidana looked like **** at 147, why trying 154? Against a beast like canelo.
Let's no take the Argentina vs Mexico that far.

Tough guy, but way too small. Canelo is barely making jr middle and Maidana would be too sluggish at that weight.

Lara, Ortiz, Maidana, Trout, K9, Quintana, Rosado, Kirkland, Molina, Martinez,

All Roads lead to Saul Dinero Alvarez.

It isn't madness. Maidana wants a big payday and exposure. I don't blame him. Canelo isn't likely to box and move like Alexander. He will give Maidana opportunities to land shots and that gives Maidana hope/confidence. What does he have to lose? He's the kind of guy who goes for the big KO and if he loses he will continue to fight with the same mentality until he can't do it anymore.
