Teddy Atlas unplugged: "A lot of these strength and conditioning guys are frauds"!!!!

They sure as hell do ..I remember hearing stories from George Foreman ..His coach would have him throw nothing but jabs in the air for a month streight ..Boxers today lack serious funidmentals ..This is why there are so little seasoned fighters ..This is why Floyd is the standout today ..Look at Andre Berto and Jean Pascal ..Sure they are strong as hell but their boxing sucks ass !

This is why old time greats get more respect .They fought more fine tuning their craft ..Now a days people want to be stronger not more skillful ..This is why the sport lacks stars ..

 

One reason why i left my gym was because the trainer made us go full ****** on the physical aspect of training and then we did 20-30 minutes of sparring :blood.
It was ridiculous and frustrating.

 

i think teddy's been out of game so long ...snc coaches in his day were probably frauds. nowadays i find they are pretty damn useful.

 

Teddy isn't against ALL strength and conditioning coaches. You have to read the entire piece and once again Atlas is correct.

 

He was never in game as much as he makes out, He used reputation as Tyson's trainer (which he wasn't) to pick up fighters developed by others (LaLonde, Simon Brown, Michael Morrer) and never lasted long with any of them. He never got along with strength coaches, but then, he never got along with anyone around his fighters--or the fighters. Shanon Briggs had great strength coach, no steroid guy, Atlas wanted him out. Simon Broan had guys around him who had helped him get to title Atlas tried to make Brown dump them.

Craziest was with Donny LaLonde. He had surgery on shoulder before he came to New York and trained a year with Teddy. LaLonde was going fro rehab on shoulder, Atlas wanted him to stop said it was all psychological!"
Donny had metal pin holding shoulder together, Atlas say's it's all in his mind.
Then he wanted to shoot LaLonde in head. I can imagine his defense at trial if he did: "LaLonde is not dead, it's all in his mind, psychological.."

:-( And yet still people think Atlas has some sort of credibility. I find him him entertaining but he's.. how do you put it.. a bit dumb and clueless about everything?

 

Damn Teddy gets so much hate for speaking his mind. If anyone disagrees with what he said here then you are just blindly hating on him.

He talks about being boxing commissioner, meanwhile he put Povetkin in a fight that was underground bout with Bruce Seldon, who was on medical suspension! He told Laonde, who had surgery...you know what, **** it. You're just an idiot.
