believe it or not Deontay's balance is drastically improved from when he started. He has made big steps.
This guy is going to go down as the biggest Hype Job and cash-out in the history of Boxing. His team is going to run up the gaudiest 40-0 (40 KOs) record of all-time whilst scouring Alabama's honky tonks and flea markets for suitable opponents and then they're going to get him a fight with a title holder and laugh all the way to the bank while Wilder is still trying to find the pieces of his Shattered Glass Mandible.
...or, he'll emerge as a titlist in the post-K2 era. :!: The division's outlook is that bleak. There simply aren't any hot enough prospects in the pipeline to resuscitate it even to the point of elevating it past the last decade. And don't give me **** like Abdusalamov, either. Besides Wilder, the top class of the USA includes whom...? Mitchell, Jennings, Chambers unless he drops to Cruiser, maybe Hamer, Hanks, Scott? All decent but none on the level of even bottom-half-top-ten guys from past eras. That isn't just nostalgia, either. The best heavies of Tyson's, Ali's, and Louis' (so-called "bum of the month club" notwithstanding) would all go through tomorrow's heirs presumptive like hot knives through butter.
That is what I would aim for if I was his manager. Pad that record, bring him along slowly, and get him a title shot after the brothers retire (3-4 years I'm guessing). The American networks would be falling over each other to sign an American heavy with a lot of knockouts and a belt.
X2 The HW division is an absolute travesty and, while I am far from a Klitschko fan, it is going to be absolutely rock bottom ****-poor without them. That being said, I can't even see Wilder ever being a serious title contender even with the likes of the post-K2 brigade. His Chin is just about nonexistant, his offense is a Jab and a hard right hand behind it at mid-range and nothing else, awful balance, awful footwork, I mean, the guy is garbage. Glass Jaw Fury and Price are nothing special whatsoever and I would pick them to horrifically KO Wilder now or two years later when he finally decides to fight someone with a pulse. How is the US contingent for this year's Olympics? Do we have a HW or SHW who isn't complete **** and could be a future Pro prospect?

For the last time, no one is hyping him ! People are only talking about him and joking around. There are only few who think he might be something more then just a protected fighter.

Like "Can he hash out a respectable career without being spoon-fed all the way to an empty 50-0 (50)...? :think" Hey, if Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. could eventually start winning some respect (and meaningful fights)... Remember where regard for him stood in the Latin Fury PPV era? In the gutter; his record was longer but still as padded as Wilder's, and nobody took him seriously... outside a handful of Mexican posters wishing upon a star...
