I'm not saying Floyd isn't slowing down, but don't under-estimate the effect of the weight/size/style of his opponent on Floyd's fighting style. Floyd fought a much different fight with De La Hoya at 154 than Hatton right after at 147. He fought both of his fights at 154 similarly in terms of movement around the ring.

Mayweather is 35. IMO, he's been on the decline starting with the Judah fight. However, it really hasn't been very noticeable until the Ortiz fight. With that being said, he's still an A class fighter and arguably the best fighter on the planet.

Cotto was on his A game and Mayweather clearly doesn't carry 154 well. All credit to Cotto though, he made it hell for Mayweather.

I think it was a combination of the two. Cotto fought a damn good fight, used controlled pressure, and stuck to a pretty good gameplan. That said, the fact that Mayweather has slowed just enough to get caught against the ropes a bit more than usual helped Cotto execute that game plan.

Floyd's definitely slowing down. And Cotto definitely stepped it up for the biggest fight of his life. The real question is, how much more does Floyd slow down after this? Because I think it will be accelerated following his prison stint.

Sounds stupid while I'm typing, but I thought he looked better physically in the Mosley fight than the Judah fight. It might be because he had settled into welterweight. IMO his physical peak was probably between 135 and 140. I think he's a far smarter and skilled (better) boxer now. It's tough to say when he truly peaked, because his physical peak and skill peak occurred at different times.

It was both. Cotto brought it and trained and performed a perfect fight but Floyd has been declining for years.

On the slide in the same manner as Jordan was. He's still great, but has adjusted his game to compensate for his physical regressions.

Well Mayweather is 35 so ofcourse he is declining but he is smart enough to adjust his
style. Just look at his style before the Judah fight and look at him now. Cotto definately did bring his A game though.

Either way whatever version of Mayweather Khan fights he gets spanked.
