For quitting? A lot of fighters quit or quit on the stool but Ortiz seem to be a target for hate when he quit against Maidana and Lopez. I feel that his recent quit is legit bc a Broken jaw is a very serious injury bc if nerves are severed, he may need be able to feel his jaw nor taste food as permanent injury. My friend got fracture jaw and the doctor have to wire his mouth shut and he couldn't feel his chin for 3 months.

I wish Victor a speedy recovery!

People want to act like every boxer should be molded from badass **** because only a handful of boxers were able to dig deep enough to finish a fight with a broken jaw.

Ortiz is a big enough name and draw to look at the situation with less urgency to risk permanent damage.

Look at Margarito for instance, had he seen his eye as ****ed early on against Pacquiao and called it a day, he might still be fighting.

Someone like Bradley or Lopez though, with serious injury like a broken foot or had Lopez been the one with a broken jaw...a chance against a big name may never come again so they might as well dig deep and pull it out.

I still think either way, Ortiz was mentally losing it before his jaw was broken. He fought the wrong fight and was getting worked more than he should've. Even if he ended up winning the fight by dramatic KO in the next round, no one would've taken the PPV with Canelo seriously.

Ortiz is becoming the new Judah. A guy with great talent, but just a mental midget in the long run of things. Gets frustrated easily. Looks to foul when **** is going his way.

I still feel Ortiz can bounce back from this with the right opponent and Berto-type effort. He just cannot afford another meltdown.

Probaly because people and maybe even fans of his know if he held himself together for just 3 more rounds he could have won.

Because he is a Glass Jawed Fraud and HBO Hype Job who was never that good to begin with, and he has disgracefully quit in three separate fights. He is a joke. Do you think that people should be fawning over him from being a mentally fragile clown who has a Fragile Glass Mandible?

Money May is Feather Fisted at WW and he Shattered Quitor's Fragile Glass Mandible with two punches. He has no Chin and no Heart. None. If he gets put away with a body shot he will become a Holy Trinity of Glass like Judah.

We shoulodn't hate on him for retiring but then we shouldn't act like it's an excuse for losing.

The dude has **** poor defence and got hit clean with his mouth wide open. That's why he got TKO'd by Lopez. It's crazy to think Victor should have fought on after he broke his mother****in jaw. I can guarantee he'd have got cracked clean multiple more times in those 3 rounds and been left with a major injury. His corner are ******ed for wanting him to fight on. If they'd have taught him to not take flush shots repeatedly I'd understand it, but not the way they have him fight.

Chalk it up as a loss by stoppage and move on.

How come Ali, Liston, and Abraham were able to fight the distance with broken Jaws without suffering career ending injuries? Oh, that's because it isn't really a serious risk. The guy would have had some serious pain for a little while, they'd wire his Jaw shut after the bout, and he'd probably have a UD win and his pride intact. Instead he quit for a third ****ing time and has become the laughingstock of Boxing. He is a Glass Jawed ***** and a mentally weak fool.

    Ruddock :deal

Got his jaw broken some time between the 2nd and 4th round and went the distance with 1991 Tyson, who had ribs cracked and perforated eardrum himself. Watch that fight again when you get a chance Mandible. It was ****ing brutal.

Ali and Liston were ATGs who fought 50 years ago. Why the **** are you comparing them to Victor Ortiz? They did many great and stupid things that few other fighters did. Ali has ****ing parkinsons and fought on when he was still having tremors. I guess that means Freddie Roach is a ***** for not getting back in the ring.

Stop mentioning ATGs when talking about a Victor Ortiz TKO9 loss.

Abraham was a ****ing warrior for what he did, but the fight would have been stopped in many other territories with many other promoters. That **** should not be the norm and then man could clearly have ended up in much worse shape than he did.

You're just butthurt cos Ortiz didn't get rendered unconscious.

    :lol::lol::lol:

That is a big pile of delusional drivel. It doesn't matter how much better Ali and Liston were then Ortiz, the point is that they were tougher. Ortiz has disgracefully bowed out of three fights now. Do you understand that there is a pattern here, joke? The guy is a confirmed Quitter. Period. Finito. End of discussion.
