Who do you like more? Both stepped up and were outclassed against their elite opponents, but they were absolutely destructive against their challengers prior.
I like Tito as the better schooled fighter. Pipino was wild and crude way too much in there. I think their power is on the same tier. Both absolutely wrecked guys. Neither was incredibly sturdy. I give Pipino the edge in terms of chin, but in a fight that would amount to who landed first, I thing Tito would land first, and often. I see it looking somewhat like the Campos fight. Tito might go down, but IF he got up, he'd finish Pipino soon after.
Pipino was in a more grueling era I think, but Felix had better size and advantages to be more succesful moving up. Both were great but limited a little. Both had great left hooks.
That would be a BIG IF i think...and not only that but if he did got up, would he still have recovered completly?? Cuevas was such a monstrous puncher... So yeah, whoever lands the first big left hook takes this one IMO.
in his prime he was only stopped by Hearns, and no one is relatively easily stopped by Hearns!! Cuevas fought welterweights of the late 1970s and early 80s like Shields,Weston, Espada,Gray,Ranzany,Clark,Volbrecht, Hearns!!! Only losing to Thomas Hearns one of the best 147 pound fighters ever!! Cuevas was better than Tito who was overrated a bit. I don't think Tito could take Cuevas for too long!!
