I know JLD had his jaw broken and his trainer Ron Rowe took him straight down to spar the guy who broke before he developed any demons. Ortiz, will be ok though, he's not quite as tough as Margarito but he's had a lot of fights and is a tough guy. As for the orginal question, yes many average boxers would quit after a broken jaw.

    Absolutly.

Once broken never the same. (sort of)

With his style he might have to be more carefull...

Hairline & chip fractures normally arn't too troublesome

But his Jaw looked messed up

Just luck on how well it heals.

Everything can affect you mentally it just depends on how you take it. From the little things I've heard and read about Ortiz is that he is a in-the-moment guy and he is probably quite positive.

I think he will be alright, let's hope so.

it can, but once he gets hit hard in a few fights and sees it will not break again he will have more confidence.

actually he could benefit from it, he could improve more his defense and work more in avoiding those head shots and uppercuts.Ortiz has the speed and the power to be dominant. But his defense sucks. He is not a coward, she showed against Berto.I dont know if at this point somebody can save this kid from disaster, he isnt too old.Can he benefit working with Steward or Shield?

Yes. Any knockout with pain or involuntary actions of your body can.

I know Ortiz has a suspect heart but I really hope this doesn't effect his career. if it heals wrong and is susceptible to be reinjured, this can be a deal breaker on his career.

I was really looking forward to a canelo fight and even a 24/7 series. ortiz cracks me up unintentionally with all the dumb **** he says lol
