Ortiz has no heart. No chin. No brains... None.

 

Because he couldn't wait to quit, he didn't even give his trainer an oppurtunity to come up with a gameplan. He could have moved and spoiled for the remainding rounds and he would have won on points, instead he quit and threw away an oppurtunity that not many fighters get in their career. I actually noticed a few rounds prior that he seemed uncomfortable in his corner, seemed like the idea of quitting had crossed his mind.

 

So much anger in you, go do some Tai Chi or yoga or something. Geez.

 

Ali and Liston were tougher than Ortiz. Congrats on stating the obvious. He quit against Maidana. We get it. Not the same thing when he breaks his jaw and his mouth is filling up with blood though. Why pretend it is?

I know Ortiz didn't get cleanly KO'd, but he still got stopped. You should be happy. Move on.

 

Got to point out that Liston quit in the first Ali fight, didn`t even try to get off the stool...

Other Boxers have bit the bullet and soldiered on through the pain to fight and it is not absurd to suggest that Quitor could have, and I say SHOULD have, continued on because he was getting yet another undeserved chance to reach the top. Guess what? He is B-level and failed to climb the mountain yet again.

That was a Quit Job as was the dive against Ali, but the simple Fact that he once fought to a decision with a broken Jaw automatically makes him more impressive than Quitor who has bottled it three ****ing times in a fairly young career. He is a Glass Jawed Joke.

its crazy that people are actually trying to give Whoretiz the benefit of the doubt.

this guy has quit TWICE before fighting lopez. his rep was already heading downhill with being branded as a dirty fighter and quitter. and him being mexican puts more pressure on him to be a warrior. he had a HUGE payday with Canelo coming up and was up on the scorecards with only a few rounds to go and he quit with all of that on the line? on top of that he was in his second hometown, LA, the same place where he bitched out against Maidana with thousands of his fans watching.

Quitting is quitting... Lots of great fighters have quit, it certainly doesn`t make them bums.The reality is that Ortiz is a good decent fighter and certainly not great. Alexis Arguello quit in Pryor 2, do you consider him to be a quitter too ?

Quitor's Glass Heart had already Shattered when he started the blatant and intentional butts, then his Glass Jaw got Shattered by what you call "sucker punches", and his Glass Heart kept him on the mat. He never even tried to get up, that is quitting. Choosing not to fight on because of a cut or injury is quitting. That is a Fact. Boxing is obviously too brutal for you and you are part of the problem with the fanbase these days. You are willing to excuse this crap and accept subpar fighters that GBP and HBO shove down our throats whereas Boxing fans from when I was younger would have already laughed this clown out of the sport.
