Canelo was at Trout's last fight. He was just as impressed as anyone who watched the fight, which well...you be the judge.

I don't think he is. Emmanuel Steward even mentioned it on a recent HBO telecast.

 

He did beat Paul Williams clearly in everyone's eyes, except the judges ofcourse, and that was one of the oppents for Canelo. So if PW was good enough I don't see why Lara isn't. After all, Canelo is not fighting on PPV as his remaining options don't have a "name" to support the PPV. We know Cotto ain't fighting either. So between K9, Lara, Spinks I think we can say Lara is the best option for a non PPV fight.
