WBC lists Fenech amongst top 12 champs

    THE WBC has listed Jeff Fenech amongst its greatest fighters of recent times. Fenech was named among the WBC's top 12 champions.

    Other members of the top 12 were George Foreman, Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran, Oscar De La Hoya, Evander Holyfield, Larry Holmes, Sugar Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Julio Cesar Chavez, Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis.

    Fenech will receive the honour in September in Las Vegas. Each boxer receives a Hublot watch valued at $45,000 with their names engraved.


    :deal Great recognition for Jeff Fenech, and well deserved. But had to laugh when I saw a watch was part of the reward.

    Great news for Jeff, a true guts and grit warrior in the ring.

    To be included among those names is a great honor. To top that off his the only fighter under lightweight to be included.

    Hats off to Jeff Fenech :good

    It would be ironic if Fenech had his watch stolen after the ceremony.
