There is a HW out there (I won't say his name) who's first 21 opponents 18 were already KO'd early by bums/light hitters/journeymen...
He's never been a good puncher imo, poor technique & lots of arm punches from a leaning back stance. He wins by wearing people down, not blasting them out. Which world-class HWs has he stopped with a single shot or blown away in a couple of rounds?
I know people are going to jump down my throat here but Nigel Benn. Please don't get me wrong, he no doubt had a lot of power but the way some people go on it's as though he had the one punch power to KO any MW/SMW in history, but that wasn't the case. The fact is early on against bums he showed big KO power with a one punch finish but when his competition level stepped up that stopped. Most of his stoppage/ko wins later on against the stronger opposition were more down to a good beating over a few rounds rather then one punch finishes. Before someone leaps out at me, i'm not denying he was a big puncher because he was, just not as big as some like to make out.
Power is the last thing you lose as a fighter. If Vitali was truly as powerful as you guys say he was then he would still be so
Bute hasn't overrated punching power , sorry ! He may have a glass chin but his 1 punch K.O power is good . :yep
Sam Peter. Was carefully matched against a bunch of C and D level fighters with weak Chins and people thought he was a savage puncher. :roflatsch His best KO is Maskaev who has a Glass Jaw and had been KOed 5 times before Peter did it. Peter was unable to KO any live body he fought. His power is way overrated.
