yeah, a fighter shouldnt be condemned for refusing, but considering the climate of suscpicion surrounding the prevalence of performance enhancing drugs in boxing, it's a given that a fighter will be condemned to some extent if they choose to refuse, because alot of people will feel naturally inclined to question why they would refuse if they had nothing to hide in the first place.

Didn't VADA say that there was no formal contract with GBP, and instead terms were agreed with individual fighters? Something that was disputed by VADA.

Do you know if there is a difference in the procedure VADA use to disclose positive a-samples compared to USADA? i.e do they also abide by the same code of ethics and only disclose this information with signed consent from the fighter in question?

VADA just screwed up a huge fight and huge career on some "tainted sample" crap. Darn right VADA is out of the question.

Question is, if Trout was willing to use USADA? If he was and they STILL refuse to throw down? I think we may be looking at a situation where we need to wonder about Alvarez.

So is any of this actually true? Or is it more of looking for things that aren't there? If it's true, **** Canelo for being a *****. He already did it with Mosley so why not Trout :-(

VADA is a different organization. They screwed up Berto then later said "Oops, tainted sample." Where does Berto stand now? People are lumping him in with every other drug cheat. Hard for me to be mad at any fighter unwilling to risk that.

USADA probably costs way too much.

I hope they do USADA if not VADA. Something better than the NSAC anyways.

It was reported as "possibly contaminated", not outright ruled contaminated. And that was a month ago.

Has Berto's handlers appealed the finding since? I sertainly would have if in their shoes.

The issue there is WHY they said that. The reason they did is because the levels were way to low to have been due to a doping regimen. They think it was a contaminated supplement.

I can only guess, but I would guess he is testing all of the stuff supplied by Conte. I am 99% sure he has lawyered up and VADA is investigating, so that may be another reason nothing has been said.

My only point was a fighter is a bit dumb to go into this level of testing doping. Doubly so in a fight this huge after making accusations of Ortiz doping. If he popped and there is doubt and I was GBP? I would distance myself from VADA.

I can see your point. But lets not act as if USADA is fool proof either. This type of drug testing is still in it's infancy for boxing.

You are right. We cant act like that. Not at all. Testing is done by humans so it can't be perfect.

USADA is just a more professional organization (quasi-government). VADA is private and by design out for a profit. They may have jumped the gun on exposing a test before being sure. Them popping athletes means possibly more money for them if they can sign more athletes or score a league contract.

USADA takes forever and a day when the fighters are clean.
