    for their time it was proly Joe Louis.....boxing was the number 1 sport on earth and his win over schmelling was a victory against nazi germany that was applauded all around the world

    To the dicks going on about PPV, you do ****ing realize that all the big fights were on normal tv back in the day, Ali was the most recognized face on the WHOLE ****ING PLANET, Mayweather is nowhere ****ing near the level of fame.

    Think Sugar Ray Robinson -- recognition-wise -- would give Ali a run for his money. No hardcore fan doesn't put SRR at the top of his list.
