    A age old rivalry will be ignited again this September when Scotland's WBO Lightweight Champion Ricky Burns puts his title on the line against England's Kevin Mitchell.

    Mitchell will be heading into the lions den, Unlike his last world title fight when he had home comforts on his side yet was blasted into defeat inside 3 rounds against Michael Katsidis. Katsidis would 4 fights later return to London to face Burns and lose to the Coatbridge man in a entertaining 12 round battle.

    Burns is a step away from stardom in Scotland, Mitchell is a step away from a dream but also a step away from career ruin. A career that started at 18, Now 9 years on Mitchell still hasn't met the expectations that followed him into pro game as a 18 year old. September 15th Mitchell aims to make it his graduation night.

    BTW i've put Mitchell first in options and in thread as he's the challenger. I've done it on theme of how they enter ring :good.

    i'm shocked at how many are going for burns. i thought mitchell would have the higher percentage going for him. something like 70-30. but no, most are picking a burns win.

    i have a lot of respect for burns, he's proven himself when many thought he couldn't do it. but against mitchell, it's all going to come to a halt by late stoppage.

    Can you imagine the boo's when Mitchell's entrance music hits. I'd love to fight away. The boo's must really boost you if you have that sorta mentality.

    I don't pick against Burns anymore - lost too much money on Martinez and Katsidis!

    Mitchell looks nothing like that picture, he looks to have aged ten years in 18 months!

    Hello, i think this will be a good fight .looking forward to the fight just hope mitchell and his camp dont get hung up on the whole england /scotland thing and just get on with it ... ive picked Burns to win by points as i dont think that he will go for the ko in this fight ,a one sided points win to me would show that mitchell cant live with burns

    i just hope though that burns dosent sit on the ropes like he has in a few of his last fights ,i find it a tad worrying when he does that as the older he gets the less he will be able to absorb as much punishement etc
