Tyson did 1.55 M with Peter McNeeley. 'Nuff said.

De La Hoya gets all the credit when it was Floyd who played a gigantic part in making that event what it was. If this isn't true, explain How De La Hoya-Trinidad 'only' did 1.4 and then refer to my first point.

tyson did 12.4 million buys ($545) in 12 events before it was so accessable through internet and such.
oscar did 12.6 million buys ($610.6) in 18 events.
imagine if tyson had done 6 more fights what the numbers would be? plus the inflation!!
he would be closer to 20 million, and prob a billion in revenue!!

Mike Tyson, even the younger kids now know who he is. He was hilarious in Hang over 1 & 2.

    Ali & Tyson without doubt.

More poeple know Tyson over Ali these days because he is younger and has various movie exploits etc.

Such a shame such great boxers can go without bieng recognised.
Still think Frazier left this world without the glory he deserved. Not that he would give a **** bieng the legend he is.

Ali was the biggest in the BOXING world, but in the entire world where most fans are casuals, it's Tyson. The PPV, the youth, the money, the court drama, the jailing, the much more modern media frenzy all surrounded Tyson. Ali was never the most photographed person in the world, Tyson WAS.

    - That's exactly why I earlier mentioned Jack Johnson. He was constantly front page news, and for at least 10 years straight. Every black person in the world loved him & most whites hated him. No internet, no TV. - That's recognition.

Also realize that back then there was no NBA or NFL. Boxing was HUGE.

Why are you numpties going on about PPV numbers ? Do you know how many people tuned in to Ali fights ,not just in his own country, all over the world? He transcended the sport.Tyson was massive but more infamous than anything. Ali was and still is far bigger.

4 boxers Hagler,Hearns,Leonard,Duran. They go together as 4 guys who might not have beaten them all, but made boxing history and made boxing exciting again.
