It has FOTY written all over it, they both come to fight. and are easily the 2 hardest hitters at 140, it would be better then matthyse-maidana which i see as a mismatch

Hadnt thought about it till now but it is a rather interesting match up, although I believe that Matthysse is overdue a title shot so hopefully it would be for one of the vacant belts

  3. Do you have Matthyse whooping Maidana or the other way around?

Any combination of those 3 fighters would make FOTY candidates IMO.

Hate to be the party-pooper here, but being in opposite promotional stables, Matthysse and Alvarado can never fight. But equally as exciting and more realistic fights to talk about, are:

    - Matthysse-Maidana
    - Rios-Alvarado

A prime Maidana outworks Matthysse over 12 brutal rounds and wins a close decision. However Maidana hasn't looked good since the Khan fight, I have a feeling he's seen his best days, so Matthysse should rightfully be favoured there. The Alvarado fight will never happen, blame it on Arum.

Finally you made a good thread. Lucas fights like a man possessed he picks up the pressure like Maidana, but he'd a much more accurate puncher and he's much smarter by going to the body. He's not so predictable as Maidana I think Lucas whips him this time. Alvarado gets hit way too much. It would be close, but I'd have to give the edge to Mathysse. The bodypunching softens up his opponents and enables him to score more points against an opponent that may be a superior boxer or headhunter. I hope Mathysse gets a rematch with Judah or Alexander somwhere down the line. He needs to prove those losses to them were flukes.

GREAT MATCH-UP! IS2 Got an instant image of demolition derby. Surprised I haven't heard it proposed before; it's a natural.

I fear -- win or lose -- it'll shorten their careers.

I'd rather see him against Brandon Rios.
