Latin (o) is not a race:

    [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin_Europe[/ame]

Examples of Latin American can be every with cultural bases in latin europe (for example language).Brazil is an example with his roots in Portugal.

Being more specific, there are Hispanic America (Hispanoamérica), who are culturally rooted in Spain (ie. Hispanic, hispanics).

There are an Anglo America (ex. Canadá, USA) Which are culturally and historically based mainly in Anglosaxon roots.

    Caucasian (caucasoid):

For anthropologists, human groups from Ireland to Sri Lanka. The term white is usually used by the people to describe caucasians for Europe, wich skin is usually the lightest, but very variable.

Do we have to argue about Ricky Hatton being white, No!

Do we have to argue about Kelly Pavlik being white, dont think so!

Do we have to argue about The Klitshkos being white, nope!

But if you have to argue about Sergio Martinez being white, than he obviously is not white.

Does Cotto have some afro-ancestry? I guess he does kind of have some afro-features. . . I always thought he was mixture of Amerindian (the "native" Boricua), and Spaniard (European conquerers). . . Thought he was one of the boricuas who look about 75% amerindian/25% white. . .

But now that I look at him, he looks about 20 white/30 black/50 amerindian

Wait! Some might tell you he's not white because he's Russian. :tired

But since he kinda sucks (for a former World champion), i guess these ******s won't object.

He is asian (mongoloid) race. . .

Martinez is at least 90% caucasian.

Skin color is only one of the external factors indicative of "race."

    :good

Well, he's not THAT slick. . He garners a 3-star rating on the slickness scale.

He's just exceptionally quick, especially in regards to foot speed.

    This topic again?

Race isn't real, it's socially constructed, so there's no need to separate terms like "race" and "ethnicity" as if they mean anything inherent.

He looks white, is of European ancestry, and is considered white in his own country. "Whiteness" changes its meaning in the United States and in a global context, where the cultural and social label for "white" is more strictly Eurocentric. Who does and doesn't get the benefits and treatments and cultural classification for whiteness largely depends on the social structure that surrounds them. Martinez is a White Latino, but to simply refer to him as white ignores key concepts of our social reality that indicate he's not entitled to the dominant cultural norm of the globe.
