Great to hear his optimism. He could have layed the gloves after that one. He's a champ according to my standards.
However, I seriously doubt he's gonna rematch Froch EVER. You'll hear him talk about it most of the time when he'll give interviews but he will never actually fight Carl again. ... No matter the reasons.

I wish him all the good in the world and I'll watch his fights 'till he decides to call it a day.
This guy hasn't changed one bit after the devastating loss. He is the same classy, humble and hard working guy he was when he reached Canada soil for the first time. It's rare you see this kind of behaviour at a person with the status he reached, not only in sports but in any other social class: politicians, pop-stars, you name it. This and his eye-pleasant style will keep me as a fan forever.

 

I hold in high esteem both Lucian Bute and Carl Froch; i think the rematch in Canada it's a matter of principle and money as it makes sense from both points of view. Both man will want to fight for different reasons : Lucian revenge, Carl low risk/reward.

What do you feel the reasons are for no rematch? I suspect you may be right,but if he has a convincing comeback fight(Pavlik would be lovely) he might get back in the right headspace.
He's in a hard spot.I don't think Froch would ever beat Ward,but he's in a different situation,because he has the respect of the whole of the boxing community.Bute is now going to have to face accusations of never being an "A list" fighter.
Maybe the fact that he's so grounded and such a decent guy is what's working against him.Just too much of a normal guy.

I'm just having some fun. I think Bute will be back. In the end, his lack of quality opponents (which wasn't his fault) hurt him.
