If a rematch does happen it only confirms what I believe happened in the first fight. That is, Mayweather fought down a level deliberately to sell a 2nd fight. Let's face it, that was not a typical Mayweather style of fighting, and not to take anything from Cotto, but it looked like Mayweather was having way too much fun in that fight (bloody nose and all). In fact, I had a conversation with my brother during the fight, and I told him I think Mayweather is carrying Cotto, by fighting Cotto's fight, and when you add in the fact that it was Cinco De Mayo, and a large Hispanic fan base would be tuning in, Mayweather had to fight a Mexican worthy style of fight. So having said that, if nothing else, I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch to see how different a 2nd fight would be. Not to mention it would be in Cotto's backyard this time.

Cotto gave him a very tough fight. Coming out of Jail and fighting him seems a little nuts to me.

Any fight news before Floyd gets out, is a waste of time.

The fight was not even close so why the rematch? Also NY has worse tax than Nevada if I'm not mistaken but who knows.Mayweather can fight Khan if Khan's ass is not knocked out (which is most likely) by Garcia.

And people wonder why Floyd left Cotto off the hook in the 12th, I seen this from a mile away:lol:

I don't mind a rematch since Arum still wants no parts of Floyd

What were the PPV numbers of fight 1? If they were particularly high that'll be the reason for the rematch, if there is 1

People asking why fight Cotto again, at this point Floyd will only fight a fighter that could get him up, since Manny doesn't want to fight, and has 2 l's to avenge, Cotto is the next best, Floyd loves fighting people that give him good woirk and challenges him, you see how happy he was when he joined Stewart and Lampley after the fight, he lives for that, he would fight Cotto 7 days a week if he could, and I would buy it too.

I'd prefer Sergio or Lara, but since it'll be in NYC and I can hop on the train and check out 2 of the best from this era live at MSG, what the hell.. Let's do it.

If Floyd really wants to challenge himself he should fight Sergio.. If he wants another Mega payday then a Cotto rematch it is.
