It would, and the most incredible part would be the ending where Maidana goes to sleep. :nod

You've got two guys who both hit incredibly hard (probably about even in raw power, but one has better technique) and one guy has the sharper offense, better body punching, and MUCH better chin.

I'm pretty confident in this one.

i think its a pride thing. maidana diesnt want to risk losing to another argie and being seen as the lesser fighter back home.

Exactly. He can rest on his laurels having gone 3-0-1 (0) against him in the amateurs and at the end of his career claim to have been the better of the two all along despite never proving it in the professional ranks.

Hey, maybe King is finally done punishing him for making Alexander look bad....maybe.

I remember liking kotelnik and considering him to be a very under-rated fighter, I remember Steve Farhood changing his opinion on commentary during the kotelnik-witter fight for the european championship as "good but not great, will get worn down and stopped" to "a bit of a dark horse" by midway through the fight.

I reckoned Kotelnik would beat Khan, I thought his discipline would shine through, while everyone else called him perhaps the weakest champ in the division and easy pickings, so I was kind of embarrassed after the Khan fight, what did I see in Kotelnik?

But alas, he went on to fight to his full potential but unfortunately get wrapped up in the Don King express just when he was performing to his full potential and actually fighting busy and throwing more (his biggest mistake against khan I feel)

will be interesting to see how sharp he is these days.

By the way, **** Don King.

Robbery against Alexander really hurt his career.

Yeah it did, above and beyond the value and prestige that beating Alexander in his hometown would've given him. King basically ruined his career by putting him on ice after making Alexander look bad. Kotelnik was supposed to just be an opponent for Alexander to look good against in his hometown to build up for the Bradley fight.

Kotelnik didn't follow the script and paid for it.

i'm confident Matthyse would beat Maidana but can't see him getting KO'd. Maidana is very resilient and Matthyse couldn't KO Alexander or Zab
