Hopefully this we step up in weight goes good for Simpson .4 pounds is f--k all I think man .Could be better never know .
Really looking forward to this fight. Appleby has soft skin and has been in many tough fights, some wars. Simpson still looked decent to me against Selby. Selby has said Simpson is his toughest opponent yet, it was simply an excellent piece of bodywork and John couldn't stand up to it. Not sure if extra poundage, Billy Nelson in Appleby's corner and a 10 round distance helps Simpson, but I'm going for Simpson on points in a close call.
Nine fights on the card, and BN on pace to show them all... ****, this might not be over by 10:30pm UK. :think
50/50 fight. Appleby got a gift last time out against Ormond. Simpson has been in plenty of wars himself and has been showing signs of this recently. Still slightly favour Simpson. 13/8 is a good price in a pick 'em fight, plus Appleby cuts up very easliy.
Props to the five blokes out of thirty-five who called Simpson by stoppage. :good The larger minority of us had Simpsons taking a decision, but honestly my sinking feeling was that he'd do enough but get robbed. I don't know that too many at all were anticipating a complete mauling as we got. I mean, Appleby stood his ground well enough in rounds 2-5 and got enough licks in to not call any of those a whitewash...but that somewhat competitive period was bookended by the absolute domination that was the 1st round, and of course the sixth.
Appleby needs to take a break and think about what he wants to do, John couldn't miss with him last night and he took a crazy amount of punches flush to the head that eventually finished him off, don't take anything away from John though he boxed fantastic and looked miles fitter and stronger than Paul.
