These guys bother look to be solid contenders in the future. Acevedo is more deliberate, while Martinez seems to be a bit more explosive.

I can see 38-38. But Martinez win is bull!

I hope Alvarez doesn't fight another no-hoper. At this stage in his career, he needs to fight decent fighters.

I have it 39-37 for Acevedo. But it was close. Rematch over 8 rounds, please!

GBP needs to move the Canelo fight.

Why not have a special Friday night HBO WCB? Fans could watch both guys, compare them, and create buzz for a matchup.

Draw was reasonable. A score favoring Acevedo was reasonable. Calling it in favor of Martinez...not so much.

1 & 3, Acevedo whooped him. I can see arguments for Martinez in 2 & 4, just don't agree with 'em. (2nd was one of those illusory rounds where he took a lot less damage than in the 1st so the inclination is to feel he "came back", but in reality he wasn't getting much clean stuff of his own off effectively and was as overwhelmed for the opening minute or so as he'd been late in the 1st and didn't seize back generalship until well into it...4th he had that big rally coming off the ropes and stunning Acevedo, but that comprised a very small segment of the round in which Acevedo still landed the overall better stuff)

Josesito says he's in a great position having beaten Ortiz.

It opened doors, he has options and doesn't have to fight anyone put in front of him. He can now make smart business decisions and exercise some clout.

He says he'll give anybody a tough fight.

I like this Lopez kid. I hope he doesn't wait around for the rematch and fights again this year.

I think he will. Few months to heal up (he still looks ragged) but he will, IMO.
