Round 1

Villalba is hungrily banging away at the body. Sanders is taking wide steps back, toward the ropes, dropping his arms to both jab at the body of Villalba and protect his own. Villalba leaps in and catches him with a right hand to the head, causing Sanders to scramble away from the ropes and take a few more licks to the body. Villalba wild but keeping Sanders on the run.

Round 2

Villalba is all over Sanders like a spray tan. Left hooks to the body and windmilling right hands to the head. Villalba is throwing crazy leather, and all Sanders can do is take a step back and pray for one of his straight blind counters to land as his other glove obscures his vision in its protective state tight against his face. Villalba is mostly tearing up the body but willingly attacking the face whenever he gets a peek at it.

Round 3

Developing into more of a fight on the inside. Villalba forcing constant exchanges, and reaching up to land hard skull-denting left hooks to the side of the head even as Sanders finds a home for some of his short counters. Sanders is being subjected to a grueling pace and doesn't seem thrilled about it.

Round 4

Villalba is hammering Sanders, hooks and rights just bursting through and knocking his gloves apart in either direction. Crazy left upper-hooks by Villalba, just bashing away as Sanders tries to fight on the backfoot and slip as much as he can. Villalba jumps in throwing a power flurry and goes down!! Counter?? No, slip.

Round 5

HUGE uppercuts from Villalba. Sanders is escaping to the ropes with some quick scissoring of his legs, leaning back and dropping his upper half to one side when Villalba starts one of his frenzied attacks. A few hooks around the side by Sanders, trying to capitalize on Villalba's wideness. Just too much naked aggression, nothing Sanders can answer with.

50-45 V

 

Round 6

Villalba throws overhand rights from across the ring, giving Sanders no quarter. Sanders can't run anymore, so he clinches. It doesn't stop Villalba from hammering away with overhand lefts and rights, sloppy but bad-intentioned. Sanders tries to fight fire with fire, throwing similar shots of his own. Villalba muscles him back to the ropes, mixing in some scoops to the body. Sanders leans back to get room to slap with his left. Sanders tries to lean down on him with his left forearm and elbow. Gum shield out for Villalba. Time out. Replaced.

You should've seen round 6 of Lopez vs. Padilla on the Solo Boxeo walkout. :yep

They may as well have been swinging foam pool noodles at each other.

 

Round 7

Sanders has found some success, taking quick lateral steps and catching Villalba on the way in with left uppercuts while dipping over to the side. Left jabs by Sanders from outside as Villalba rushes him. Sanders doing a very good job keeping Villalba out. Sanders darts in behind a double jab and right to the body. Clinch. Villalba hasn't been able to get close and land anything more than two minutes in. Sanders jabs to head and body from outside, using his legs to stay away. Villalba jumps in, crazy combo, Sanders hit with the first punch but rolls with the rest.

Round 8

Villalba is still having difficulty with the Sanders left jab, having his head snapped back by it when he rushes in no matter how he cricks his neck or lowers his base. Sanders is simply moving and jabbing, basic boxing, probably thinking he should have tried this rounds ago. Villalba is jumping inside, and Sanders is clinching and waiting for a break to be called. Villalba is being shown out here a bit by Sanders' minor adjustments. Sanders jabs Villalba in the face and ribs. FLUSH left counter hook by Sanders as Villalba tries to swarm him to the ropes.
