His Olympic Gold Medal was very overrated too!

Plus tearing up Vitali's face was just an accident, and wasn't a result of his punches or anything!

    Go watch MMA or something.....

I was a fan of Lewis especially when i saw the Grant and Gallota fights. Howver watching his two losses and the Vitali fight he did look out of shape and i didn't have that much confidence in him. He could almost be like two different fighters he really needed to be motivated. At his best however he would give any heavyweight of any era trouble. If he was going up against any of the greats i'm pretty sure the better version of Lewis would show up rather than the uninterested out of shape version.

If somehow he was fighting a prime Ali (who he respects the most), Holmes, Tyson, Marciano, Louis, Johnson or Dempsey, he would come into the fight with more motivation than any of his career fights and in the best shapoe of his career. Being lazy cost him a perfect record oh and some dodgy judges in the first fight with Holyfield. But his chin does put some question marks over him, but almost every fighter has some question marks over them and even those with perfect records like Marciano have question marks over their fights and quality of opposition.
He seemed like a nice intelligent guy out of the ring and you have to give him credit for that. If you accidently bumped into him in a club or bar he looks like the type of guy who would apologize to you rather than starting a fight.

I would not hold losing effort against Vitali against Lewis - after all Vitali is one of the best boxers of this generation. Lewis is a great boxer and had excellent career.

A focussed Lewis is simply the best bet for head to head greatness in the division.

Don't respond if you disagree because you are incorrect.

It's worth noting that for his biggest fights he fought as well as he could, and came out on top in devastating fashion mostly, and retired on top. Hard to fault the man for that and he is a sure fire top 5 Heavyweight.

I gotta put Prime iron Mike ahead of Lewis H2H, because of
Mike's defense and iron chin. But Im a huge Lewis fan and
would put him second or third, and I can respect anyone
putting him no 1. LEWIS had the power, size, technique,
and agression and balls to knockout almost anyone.
For me I was very impressed by his early knockouts,
however his Morrison fight is a masterclass. Tommy was
one of my favorites, and Lewis cut him early and dominated
Him, and Tommy could have put his lights out with the
left hook. Prime focused Lewis, I only see Tyson, 70s
Foreman, Peak Bowe, and Prime Ali beating him.

Lewis is as good as his motivation makes him to be.
He would probably lose his first fight against these monsters before he defeats them in a second fight.

Lewis went 41-2-1 (32) overall, 15-2-1 (10) in HW World Title Fights, and 2-0-1 (1) vs. Hall of Famers. He beat among others:

    O. Ocasio W8, G. Mason KO7, M. Weaver KO6, T. Biggs KO3, and D. Ruddock KO2 prior to being proclaimed WBC HW Champ. Then he beat:

    T. Tucker W12 (dropped him twice), F. Bruno KO7, and P. Jackson KO6 before losing the title to O. McCall LKOby2.

He only lost twice... McCall (he beat McCall TKO5 in the rematch) and Rahman LKOby5 (he beat Rahman KO4 in the rematch). He drew vs. Holyfield... most felt Lewis won. He won close decisions vs. Mercer and Holyfield that some felt could have went either way.

Lewis is an all-time great! I don't have him #1 though.

    King Seamus has spoken!

All ESSB pawns and peasants must pay attention!:D

I'll say this about Lennox Lewis. He's one of the greatest big men the sport has ever seen, probably the greatest super heavy of them all. I respected him more as an older, mature fighter because he didn't always stress the importance of the knockout. Lennox prefered to beat you by making you quit which is why he called himself a Pugilistic Specialist.

He'd be that much greater had he fought Tyson and Bowe during his formative years, but those fights that didn't happen weren't his fault.
Tyson went to jail and Bowe chickened out.
