Because, despite the judges scoring, he beat him.

 

ODLH, and by a long distance. And, no, not simply because he should have won against Trinidad on the cards. That's not the be-all of comparing fighters by any means, how a fight between them went down. You have to look at the rest of their careers also. He has a superior resume, superior accomplishments and was a superior boxer.

We also factor in Oscar's overall impact on the sport, and his relevance today.

As a fighter, he was more skillfull than Tito, aswell as having the better dossier of names, and more achivements.

 

Always preferred Tito but its Oscar by some margin.

He achieved a lot more & against better opposition, but I'm still pissed off about the Quartey fight/gift decision.

 

Oscar has a GREAT resume, BUT he lost to the best PRIME fighters he fought SORRY..... Mosley (x2), Tito, BHop, Mayweather, and Pacquiao. Vargas and Mayorga, were Tito leftovers, and these were his biggest wins of the 2000s. Great fighter, terrible right hand. Trinidad wasn't the greatest boxer, but was the ultimate exciting killer. Only lost to BHop, no shame, and winkywright. The Roy Jones fight was at 170lb, LOL. TITO always trying to prove something. BTW, DLH won their fight 6-5-1...A snoozer, I remember buying it.

Tito didn't take a dive against Hopkins from a grazing bodyshot. Having said that ODLH achieved more in his career and NO he didn't beat Floyd

 

He didn't lose to Tito or Mosley in the rematch as most people thought he won. Oscar tho past his prime not having the speed and power he had pre 2003 was still good enough to be the best 154lber when Floyd faced him. For me starting as a superfeatherweight he was always a naturally smaller fighter than Tito yet better h2h and resume wise. Tito never faced Mosley or Quartey and there's a better case for him than for Oscar in losing the most important fights. No way Tito won more than 4 rounds against Oscar.

 

The Ike Quartey, Mosley 1, and Rueles fights were the only fights where I watched Oscar and said DAMN this boy is great and I've watched that fool since the USA FIGHT days. Even with the great resume, he was rarely decisive enough, hence the controversial decisions, many against him. Just my honest opinion...He didn't fight like a true Mexican American.

 

The General concensus is 8-4 Mayweather.
