If you read the right threads you'd know atberry's head is stuck up Eubank's ass! LOL. Jones is not fave fighter be he was in a different league to Eubank in every aspect except chin quite obviously.
I agree that RJJ was in a different league....but remain in the minority that, that league was below Eubank...I know I am alone (w/ atberry, anyway) that Eubank beats RJJ!
The only Eubank would beat RJJ is if both Jones hands were tied behind his back and he was blind folded
Oh please, Eubank would be lucky to win a round against Jones let alone beat him. Roy would make him look like a total bum just like he made everyone else look in his prime.
You're probably not alone in thinking Benn the lesser fighter (undecided personally), but if Benn is more popular it has probably more to do with the fact that he "walked the talk" and faced more dangerous fighters. He also has the going out all guns blazing style that appeals to many.
Collins > Eubanks > Watson > Benn as i once stated . Eubanks at least fought living Watson & Benn . Who were Jones' sole living opponents until he met Montell Griffin and lost ? d nearly (more or less) equally overrated Bernard Hopkins . And Jones did not beat Hopkins any more than Trinidad beat DeLaHoya . 1 might also want 2 count Jorge Castro but he was undersized and i read that he underwent a traffic accident early in his career which helps 2 Xplain his per4mances past it . as 4 Eubanks vs Jones , if it happened during Jones' prime then he would have been d favorite as he had 3 years youth advantage over Eubanks . Jones' prime did not coincide with Eubanks' just like it did not coincide with Reggie Johnson's , Tony Thornton's or Merqui Sosa's . But prime vs prime , Eubanks would have been able 2 absorb Jones' punches , if he had 2 take any (Jones did not throw a lot unless he flurried and Eubanks had good reflexes during his prime) and was quick enough 2 counter Jones (neither 33 years old Reggie Johnson nor bulimic 17 lbs dehydrated James Toney r good Xamples 2 how a prime Eubanks per4med) . Eubanks in his prime was not n easy enough opponent 4 Jones 2 take on and it's more like Jones had a chance 2 survive Eubanks and somehow win a decision . A chance , but more probably it would have been Eubanks flooring Jones multiple times and/or KOing him or at least winning a decision due 2 it .
McCallum could do everything that Eubank could do and better. Eubank couldn't do the things McCallum could do. UD win for McCallum
Good ****ing post this one. Eubank was ****. Who did he fight? Benn won their second fight while he was more green in the first. At least Benn is a true warrior and took on some ofthe best fighters around. Can you imagine Eubank taking on McClellan or even Barkley? Benn was the better fighter and Eubanks only great win is over Watson when he was getting the **** beaten out of him before he landed a hail mary punch at the end. For all you English nuthuggers: Danny Green KO1 Eubank the *****.
I wouldn't call Eubank ****, he had some talent was tough, a very good fighter, not great but i agree with some of your points, but i can't believe some people on this thread are saying he would beat RJJ, he struggled to beat guys who were at least 3 levels below Jones for gawds sake.
Nobody could throw a powerful cross as sneakily as Eubank and Jones leaped into hooks as often as most fighters jabbed. Specifically open for Eubanks short counter overarm cross. Eubank would've taken Jones.
McCallum clear UD and maybe a wide one, too technically good for Eubank I suggest watching their performances against the same opponents : Malinga and Tony Thornton
Jones did show his incredible single punch power in leaping lead hand shots when he did land one, though
