Hopkins was way out of his prime, however he has developed a style which compliments his best attributes and has placed less importance on his diminishing ones. Watch Hopkins against Glen Johnson and you'll see just how good a prime B-Hop was and how his style is different to now.

I feel what Hopkins was able to do post Calzaghe (Pavlik, Pascal x2) proved he was still a tough fight for anyone at that time

The fact Hatton had to low blow the **** out of Tszyu and the fact he retired after that fight leaves question marks on how much he had left ( he was coming off a few good KO victories)

For me Calzaghe takes this, going to America for the first time and beating a guy who fought dirty and used a lot of veteran tactics takes this

Hatton was comfortable at home in Manchester and a Ref that was too liberal with Hattons fouls

Yeah the ref just kind of let Hatton foul. Typical british referee job.

What about Hopkins losses before he met Calzaghe?

A lot of ****** comments about past prime Hopkins fighting Calzaghe.Just because he was knocking on doesnt mean he was past his best, and imo around this time was when he found his best form.

43 year old Hopkins had very clear stamina issues in the Calzaghe fight, this is undeniable, I very much doubt a younger version would have suffered those like that.

Hatton easily. He actually WON for starters. and he won in great fashion.
Calzaghe went life and death with a 43 year old and looked absolutely horrible in doing it. and all he got was a split decision that even he and his father were surprised by. he got sat on his ass, his nose busted, and didn't even land a scratch on hopkins.
Hatton fought like a serious champ and like an absolute beast. He actually earned his win and fought like a fighter. And he landed real punches and actually hurt his opponent and LANDED REAL PUNCHES. the thought calzaghe's victory is better is hilarious. Hopkins is better than Tszyu, but there's a reason coke boy wouldn't even rematch hop's in his own back yard.

you call others ******s and then try to say he was past his prime at 43 and then try to say that was his best form when you don't even know any other form he had?:huh nice logic:-(

I thought of the Hatton vs Tszyu fight as a bit of a farce with the idiotic Ref.

Some in here saying Hatton dominated obviously forget the Knockdown that wasnt counted for Tszyu and the 2 LOW BLOWS one which was a shocker.

The Rabbit punching it was a farce of a fight. I think some forget also that after round 9 2 Judges had Tszyu in front if i recall.

Those saying he dominated need there head examined.

well hattons never claimed to be a clean fighter.

joes a bit cleaner, but his victory of 43 year old grandad sucks bigtime, especially as its supposed his career peak. Beating 43 year year olds is what you do when you are a young 21 year old buck, not when you are supposed to be testing yourself against the best.

2 of the ugliest fights ever along with Wlad v Sultan. All of the footage of all of these fights should be destroyed and all records wiped from the books and the net. Who was the winner . . . boxing lost those 3 days. what was more impressive, Hatton had a clear win and i thought Bhop pulled it out. SO obviously RICKY!

Damn! I can't believe how I find myself agreeing with you more and more. I suspect your account has been hacked:shock:

On topic, Hatton clearly has the better win. Hopkins easily won 7 to 5.
