Love it! Main Events is one of the few real boxing promoters out there willing to make the effort to promote fighters on their own. Excellent news!

Yeah, they're doing a great job so far. It's especially impressive considering they don't have the deepest of stables.

But with the amount of dates they've been given, they're eventually going to have to put on shows by other promoters. Which would be a good thing as long as Main Events maintains quality control.

NBC Sportsnet has been putting on some decent cards. Let's take it a step further.

if NBC wants to air boxing they should rather just demand/buy some worthy fights.. exclusive ties between a tv channel and a certain promoter is rather some semi communistic european model and has pretty much always turned out to be bs in the long run

Great news. . . I often hear some older guys reminiscing of the days when PPV-quality cards were shown on network television. . .

Thus far, NBC has put on some great cards. . . It's clear they're using Jennings as the future guy to build around, and Adamek is their "current name" to built up around. . .

    Jennings/Liakovich, Judah/Paris, Adamek/Aguilera, Adamek/Chambers have all been good, TV-friendly fights. . .

You can bet the house the Dec. 22nd card will feature Adamek, Judah, or Jennings.

Yeah, NBC sports I think his cable only. . . But it's basic cable, which pretty much everybody has now. . .

But regular NBC is not cable. . If by chance you don't even have basic cable, you can plug your TV in the wall and pick this channel up.

NBC Sports= Cable, NBC = Free TV. The Dec. 22nd show is on NBC (free tv).

Anyway, just read on The Scene the start time for the first NBC card is 4 PM EST.

Yep, and most households in the country watch at least some NBC during the week if not daily. Almost nobody watches NBC Sports (formerly Versus) which is still very fringe and barely a pimple on the ass of market leader ESPN...itself a niche interest channel that probably isn't viewed by even a majority of cable subscribers.

This is a HUGE leap for boxing. People don't understand, it isn't some small transition going from NBC Sports to regular NBC. This is massive.

    Euro card?

    ...Klitschko?

Does anyone know what the TV ratings have been like for these shows? Is this the first one regular NBC?

Great news for boxing fans around the world :good I wish a promoter with a better stable had this card, similar to Hennessy being on Channel 5 in Britain, but it's still a positive sign.
