    Kessler gets 5 million euros a fight?
    For Green?
I'm happy to be corrected but I find that hard to believe.Froch doesn't get £2m a fight.
I'm not contradicting you because I don't know.Just find that shocking.
5 million euros or pounds is a crazy amount for a European fighter.

  3. This is stupid. No interest at all in seeing this, and I'm a Bute fan.

Rematch clauses are bad for boxing

I've just read he was on $1.4 million for fighting Steiglitz(before postponement) so I very much doubt he's been earning 5 million on a regular basis.
I think you're way off the mark here.

You're suspecting wrong bro ! In rematch, Bute is gonna outbox & circle the slowly-widely Froch !

I believe Kessler made about 3 million USD against Froch, same amount against Ward and 5 million USD against Calzaghe..

I think Lucian wants it for himself, to prove he can beat Froch. I think he doesn't give a **** about his career anymore, HE's in the "do or die" position now & I wouldn't be surprised if he retired after his possible loss in the rematch.

Amazing how things change in such short time isn't it ? :hi:

I've read where he generates crazy amounts of buys in Denmark. . He's basically their premier athlete there. Their PPV's are like equivalent to 80 bucks for a fight. .

The reason Kessler was getting 1.4, is because they wanted Stieglitz's title, who was getting 3 million to come to Denmark

Moreover, that was probably just his base salary, not counting PPV revenue, which Kessler was probably going to get more of. . So yeah, kessler can make a **** ton of money.

But it does seem like the PPV revenue would still be there. . . I guess Froch's camp probably wants a good piece of that.

NOTE: I was meaning 5 million US dollars, which would be around 3 million euros. . Which yes, I think Kessler makes even against guys like Allan Green.

That sounds about right mate.I just have trouble believing that he's a $5m per fight guy, which I felt was the implication.

I think you have to bear in mind that he brings nothing to the table in terms of titles or big figures for Froch.Add to that Froch said he promised him a rematch after the first fight.
If this had been 3-4 years ago, then of course Kess would be in a strong position, but there's no disgrace in admitting he's not what he was,and this is the biggest fight out there for him(outside Hopkins at 175)
Of course he's entitled to make a good purse for himself, but he's not a $5m man anymore.
    Very few European boxers are.:-(

The first fight wa so decisive that I think Bute should seek another opponent stylewise.

Hell, I think Magee gave Froch more problems than Bute. Stylewise, Bute ain't got nothing on Froch.

I think people don't realize how much some European boxers make, though. . Sturm has a contract with German TV that guarantees him a minimum of 2 million euros per fight for like a 10 fight deal. (I just schooled somebody with that link in another article on here). . .

Kessler has to be making at least 3 million dollars for fights when his PPV's are equivalent to 80 USD. . . I can't find the article, but I remember a guy posting on here (think complete with article) where it said Kessler/Green fight had like a crazy % of Denmark being tuned in to the fight. . .

I just don't blame Kessler for looking out for what he has left of his career; he knows how grueling hte Froch fight will be, and win or lose, he'll get a lot taken out of him (he already did from their first fight).

That's why it's not important to me the fight takes place next, because this fight will ALWAYS be there. . . No matter what happens to either Kessler, and Froch in their next fights. . . I think it should be hte fight they both retire on. . .

THere are other great fights, certainly having potential to be just as exciting as Froch/Kessler like Kessler-Froch/Cloud-Pascal, Kessler/Shumenov, Kessler-Froch/Campillo (don't think either Froch or Kessler would take this fight, though, Campillo too good!), and even Kessler/Froch - Pavlik, or Kessler-Froch/Chavez Jr. (if he moves up next).

Froch - Kessler will have the same selling potential because no matter what happens in their fights, people know that these guys match up perfectly, and it's going to be some great two-way action.

I did think (because they're both from Europe) that you were referiing to euros or sterling,so that clears that up.
Remember Froch's age though. He won't be around forever.
