This makes GBP look like they have something to hide, even if they don't actually have anything to hide, this move creates the perception that they do. Terrible PR move.

It's pretty worrying that GBP think they can flex their muscles like this and basically try to blackball people they don't like out of the sport. GBP has done a lot of encouraging things but this sort of posturing & attitude isn't good for the sport.

Montoya is doing what a journalist is supposed to, he got a source on a potential story and is asking questions. If a journalist isn't supposed to follow up leads and ask questions then what they **** are they supposed to do, just rehash press releases before fights? Even if the USADA/GBP drug testing story is a dead end then it would at least show everything was on the up & up but blackballing the journalist makes thing look shady.

Don't get me wrong, Montoya has made mistakes as well. He should have been smarter and stayed the **** away from responding to petty crap on forums/twitter but the overall idea of him looking into the drug testing issues isn't a bad idea, it's good that he's had the balls to do it.

GBP has quietly, cowardly, banned me from their shows. No one has said anything official. I got confirmation this weekend when someone from Fantasy Springs put it in an email that GBP had requested I be removed from the credential list.

No, Top Rank has not banned me. And if you look at my history, I have been pretty harsh with them. I've asked Manny straight up about possible drug use and testing three times in a very direct manner. I've openly questioned Arum on a conference call I was kicked off of about his myriad of excuses re: Pacquiao not testing through USADA. I've written entire columns mocking Pacquiao PPVs or putting them in proper perspective. And yet they won't ban me.

Yet I ask questions of GBP and print their ridiculous legal threat as a way of saying "You can't threaten the press into not asking questions" and GBP bans me.

This won't make me cover another sport. It won't slow me down one bit.
