You had to go all the way back to middleweight to find that? Proves my point. He has been speaking that way since before he went heavyweight, since before he went cruiserweight.
If Adamek beats James Toney then I will say James Toney needs to retire. But James Toney has been winning most of his fights at heavyweight so how can I say he should retire if he's winning and he's doing what he wants to do? When he clearly can't do it anymore, he will start losing.
Here he is after Jirov. Much better than today: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuiuVPEpA9U[/ame]
Damn, now that's a mismatch :!: And I'm sure there are a couple here who favor Toney in this bout (and actually mean it too). :deal
I predict Adamek will struggle with Toney. Overall, it will be an embarrassing fight and a new low for boxing.
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=1437&cat=boxer Look at his boxrec. James Toney has wins at heavyweight going back to 2007. Granted they were wins against journeymen but they were still wins. Adamek hasn't really beaten anyone significantly better so as far as resumes go they are able to fight each other. If you want James Toney to retire because he's old or shot or whatever I can understand that, but until James Toney starts losing he should be able to do what he wants to do in the ring without anyone encouraging him to retire. Especially considering he needs the money and he's not a good speaker who can do what Antonio or Roy do.
How is the length of time relevant in any way? Toney never used to slur his speech. After fighting as a pro boxer for a few years he now does. Toney's speech has continued to decline down the years as he has taken more and more punches. You think a guy who takes punches for a living slurring his speech after a few years of fighting, when he never used to, is coincidence? Every post you have made on this thread so far has been utterly moronic, and everyone on here disagrees with you, so please stop defending a top 20 HW fighting a guy who is beyond shot. It's madness.
If I turned pro and fought Charlie Zelenoff I would win. By your logic, I would then be a credible opponent for Sergio Martinez. atsch
Both these guys should just retire. No point in fighting and wasting peoples time and money fighting these type of joke fights, which only brings shame to our sport. This really is a **** poor fight, its embarrassing to be a big time fan of HW's history.
How anyone can defend this fight & not see that Toney is worryingly punchy is either a ******, a troll or both.
Are you comparing Adamek to Sergio Martinez now? Adamek is overrated. I don't see how he's receiving so much credit as if he beat Wlad or Vitali or as if he's truly skilled. He has held a title but that doesn't mean much in such a weak division. Just like you can say it doesn't mean much that James Toney is beating guys and knocking out journeymen in a weak division.
