Is Gary Russell bound to get Ko'd by a counter punch?

The guy is crazy, best prospect in boxing, but when he throws his 8-10 punch combinations, he over-commits and a skilled counter puncher with pop can time him. I think if he ever gets ko'd it will be that way. thoughts

 

It's a possibility, but I think he's smart enough to adjust his style against a guy that can really hurt him.

 

i can see him getin hurt soon, he was throwin combinations then that split second after he throws them hes open, that guy he fought hit him a few times was suprised its rare to see him get hit, he better stay away from Rigo for a while tho

 

thats what got me thinking about this. that guy tag him a couple of times during exchanges

 

lol. i hope your not comparing him to the other brawlers that get owned by counter punchers.

he might be aggressive, but hes a precise puncher that times his shots well.

if anything, HE is one of the best counter punchers in boxing right now. he's exciting, but not reckless at all.

the best way of beating him is probably to push him back and go to the body. u damn sure arent go to be able to counter a guy whos timing and hand speed is much better than yours. hes almost the total package.

 

He won't be able to throw 8-10 combinations with the elite. BUT he will have some good 3-4 combinations that will land. He's the fastest boxer in the game at the moment and he will almost always win the exchange because of that.

If he really wants Broner he will get Ko'd. He has nice hands but I am not completely sold yet. I am a fan though

 

I think he'll get Ko'd in surprising fashion just like Khan did, probably from a counter shot. Still we'll wait and see.

 

gamboa had the same problem until he realized hes got to use better footwork, head movement, and dont over commit. he could learn a thing or 2 from floyd

 

IMO I think a good pressure fighter might do him in.

 

He is like Manny but way better. Pacquiao wasn't really a puncher. It's the speed and combos that does it. This kid has stamina issues? I dunno. But if he doesn't you're looking at an ATG.

Hopefully he does OSDT.So the speed is legit and he's not on some kind of medication.Looks unreal the hand-speed that's why is kinda suss.

I love how Pac is degraded to a bum status now and even prospects are way better than him
