I think Gary Russell is ridiculously talented and he and Gamboa are in a league of their own when it comes to handspeed, but I need to see how this guy's chin holds up. I want to see him get hit hard. if he can take a punch, the sky's the limit for this dude.

I need to see his Chin tested against a real opponent before I make a final decision, but he looks like the real deal. I think he is legit. The guy is not just going ape**** with his flurries, he is picking and timing his own counters in the midst of the exchanges that he forces and his defense is pretty solid. I am hoping he gets the Glass Jaw JuanMa fight he wants.

How the hell can you say Garry Russell is ridiculously talanted when the only thing he has fought are D and C- level fighters you can't and trying to compare him to Gamboa you better get your head out of your ass.:hi:

I agree with you on this, but when he fights some with a decent reach advantage and that has a good jab, that might cause him problems because of his t-rex arms

because he never once struggled with these C and D level fighters like u often see some prospects doing. hes already showing he belongs on the elite level.

even Gamboa has been dropped numerous times by C and D level fighters. is he a fraud tho?

read what I said dummy. I compared them in terms of handspeed and handspeed alone, and it's a perfectly acceptable comparison, two featherweights with blinding handspeed. Gary Russell, with his handspeed, countering ability and precision, is ridiculously talented. you don't have to see a fighter in against an A level fighter to recognize talent. if that's the case, canelo isn't talented, lara isn't talented, neither is rigo, or any rising fighter, until we've seen those same skills on display against an A level guy. that's absurd. chill out.

I don't think this will happen. His chin still needs to be tested, but I don't see GRJ having a weak chin. If his chin proves to be good, like I suspect it to be, then he will be a ****ing beast. With his skill, speed, and a strong chin, he will definately be better than Gamboa. Gamboa's biggest downfall is his chin, so again I really hope GRJ has a great chin.

Oh definately since the guy hurt him multiple times, and of course we all know GRJ has gotten dropped several times in his career already, thus showing a weak chin.:patsch

In my opinion yes, it's a matter of time. Especially when he hooks, he drops his hands and almost invites the "I'll trade taking yours for mine". Think he's a phenominal talent, but yeah I think he gets stopped in this way.
