He's 24-1 (18KO) overall, 2-1 (1) in world title fights (WBO CW in the loss and interim WBA CW in the wins), 2-0 (1) vs. future hall of famers Roy Jones Jr. (KO10) and James Toney (W12). He's also beat Eliseo Castillo KO5 and Enzo Maccarinelli KO3 among others. The only loss was a SD vs. Marco Huck in Germany for the WBO CW belt. The 5'11" 200 Lber looks like he has a solid future... how good is he really?
Denis won 9 possibly 10 rounds in his fight with Huck. It was a robbery in line with Pac/Bradley. Him and that Cuban guy who just beat Cunningham are the two best cruiserweights at the moment.
I heard that he's very good at beating down 40+ year old legends.... but seriously, best CW at the moment, behind Hernandez, hope that his fight with Guillermo Jones happens
Lebedev is technically proficient but lacks natural ability. Lebedev was trained to be a fighter, he wasn't born to be one. In other words, a lot of skill but not much talent
He's very good. Not that fluid, but explosive enough, able to find his spots, and should be undefeated. IMO, he's the best cruiserweight out there now by a fair margin.
he is underrated. . imo, the second best CW right now. . he is a technical puncher, kind of like matthysse, and tszyu. . . very good power, and pretty good speed actually. he'll beat guillermo jones in oct. if jones don't *****. . . think he's got a good shot at shattering hernandez's jaw as well.
Lebedev is Vitali, not Volodymyr. He's a born fighter and has underrated skills. The ****** who compared him to Andy Lee needs to find a new sport.
^ You're entitled to your opinion, even though you're wrong. Lebedev doesn't seem to have killer instinct, he fights a bit cerebral. Perhaps you should be watching polo.
I guess he is solid enough and is one-dimensional but still masters that way of fighting. I didn't see the Huck fight but to beat Roy but specially Toney like that, he really makes the best of his fighting style.
Id say he is elite at the weight has some solid wins like you pointed out but he needs a different directions he has stayed on the old guy circuit far too long he needs to start fighting relevant guys at his weight class No Jones and Toney he needs Hernandez Huck or Diablo
And from what i assume of Lebedev's background (Blue Berets stuff), he doesn't fit the description of someone that had to learn to fight.
