Khan gives up his own reach by falling in. Garcia staying low he can duck and roll Khans shots or come up under Khan with a hook Khan will never see. Garcia uses his jab every fight consistently and he controls his opponent with it. Vs holt was a perfect example. Except vs Morales. Khan might sneak in some counter rights, but nowhere near how a Morales did. Thats classic Morales, timing and feinting with speed. And Garcia was able to adjust and re-establish his jab vs Erik. Garcia actually doubles and triples his jab and uses it to set up his opponent and disrupt rhythm, unlike Khan who just flicks out to blind you with a 1,2 and doesnt even sit down on it.

Garcias timing and jab is as good as Paulie, just not as fast. Khan just didnt respect Paulies power. He will respect Dannys and wont have much success with as u say 'just control distance and throw combinations' because i see Khans style playing into Dannys. Not the other way around as u seem to think. Danny is the more accurate puncher as well and he can change where he wants to throw a punch as he throws it unlike Maidana and Peterson who telegraph many of their shots. Danny sometimes does but he can also generate much more power than those two with much shorter quicker punches. May the best man win bro. But Danny has everything going for him right now. Khan just has a name. Thats it.

Dont get me wrong Khan is good at what he does. His speed and athleticism is special. He has such high intensity. And many seem to think Garcia is garbage but i disagree. He may not always be explosive or have blazing speed or amazing defense but he is a well schooled boxer with above average power in both hands and a solid chin and heart. That is enoughvto beat Khan in my opinion. Anything can happen in this type of match up but either way it will not be a walk in the park for either fighter. But i give Garcia the edge and with his skills being enough and punch being a finisher, i gotta call the upset on this one.

Yeah I agree with you khan can be outboxed easily. He still has an amateurish style.

I like that the Garcia's have no respect for Khan. Thats the right attitude. Khan tries to be a bully in the ring, grabbing, pushing and pulling ur head down. I want to see a real war and thats what Garcia will bring. Lets see if Khan is up for it.

Man, I wish we had more footage of Garcia online, because while you've written a good game-plan, I've never seen Garcia offer up that type of counter-punching style, nor that type of timing, nor an accuracy that compares to Khan (not that Khan's accuracy is super, but still.) Again, we'll have to wait.

I've been trying to find the Holt fight, would love to see it. Can't find it anywhere.

If he could be outboxed easily, Judah, Kotelnik, and Paulie would have done it.

Awesome find. I forgot about this fight. I think once Danny started getting warned for the body shots he started pickin em up and got out of his zone. Damn trunks were up to Nates arm pits. And what the hell was the commentator watching. The ninth was close? The 7th 8th were close but the 9th? **** outta here...

As u see Garcia has a great jab. And he did the same vs Holt. I gotta admit Morales did an amazing job taking Garcias left hand away. He said in the post fight thats what he would do first and that Garcia had a difficult style. Lots of arm punches from Garcia but no different than how Mayweather throws his shots in order to maintain his defense and balance. Danny learns and improves with every fight. I think they have brought him along well. No better timing for a Khan fight than now imho.

    Khan hands picks opponents?

    Well who sort of doesn't?

All I know is he fights anyone... so how is it hand picked? Who has he avoided is the question... who? and who has avoided him?... exacly.

You're just repeating what you hear others say. If it was 'easy' to do then how come Paulie, Zab, Maidana and Peterson couldn't do it?

Angel Garcia, the father and trainer of undefeated WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (23-0, 14KOs), has been taking a lot of heat for his recent comments which were fired in the direction of his son's scheduled opponent, former beltholder Amir Khan (26-2, 18KOs).

The fight takes place on July 14th at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, with HBO televising.

Garcia believes that he's been painted as the villian for speaking the truth and he refuses to sugarcoat any of his comments for the sake of "sounding nice."

"The thing is this, the truth hurts. When you tell somebody the truth, the truth hurts. The truth can never be denied. When I was little, my mom told me 'son, don't ever cover the sky with lies because the sky is too big for your hand to cover.' So when you tell someone the truth it hurts," Garcia said to ***********.com.

"The truth is the truth and the truth hurts. I don't want to be the villain because Danny can fight. Danny can fight and I can back my mouth up."

Garcia feels Khan is a pampered fighter who was fed safe and/or non-threatening opponents to build his run, and he shares the same feelings about WBC 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

"The truth is, [Khan] was another Canelo - he got pampered. You're supposed to be the greatest fighter. What are you waiting for, to be 39 so people can say they fought you at an old age. Fight young now," Garcia said.

"They are protecting Canelo and I'm not going to put race involvement in this but probably because he's Mexican...I don't know. We don't know. But how can you be the great champion of the world when you ain't fighting nobody. You fighting at 154 and you walk around at 154. You're 5'7, you can't make welter? You can't make junior [welter]?"

"Danny was never pampered. He was fed to the lions young and he came out victorious."

Team Khan, who support the British superstar at every show - Garcia had some words for them as well.

"All of these guys sit there in the front row. Golden Boy puts them on in front row. My family sits in the back. They sit there in the front row and every time Khan hits someone, they all jump up there at the same time like a puppet. They all puppets. They all wear the same suits. Where they bought [those suits] at?"

Cutting through the pre-fight hype, Garcia discussed his feelings on the upcoming contest. He doesn't deny the reality of the situation. His son is a huge underdog and he was likely secured as a good opponent to give Khan a big win before a potential move to welterweight. Garcia is not taking Khan likely but he expects his son to win big and derail Khan's future goals at 147.

"He really lost [against Peterson]. To me he lost. Khan is a good fighter. I'm not going to underestimate him. It's not going to be a hard fight but its not going to be an easy fight. Its going to be a good fight. He's coming to get a W, we're trying to stay undefeated. Two young lions. He's looking at Danny as a pushover fight. That's the way he's looking at it. He got his hands full," Garcia said.

"Khan is saying he's going to do this and that, punish Danny because of me, whatever. If I thought Danny couldn't fight..that he couldn't defend himself, then I would be quiet. I believe in him a lot. And I dreamt this 24-years ago when he was born. This was meant to be. This is Danny's destiny. As long as he stay focused physically, mentally and spiritually, he will be victorious. The gamblers will lose their money."

"Danny is going to be there for him but will he be there for Danny. He can run all night. He can run all night if he wants but he can't hide. If he's a warrior like he says he is, then he is going to come out and give 100% because Danny is going to give 100%. At the end of the night, on July 14th, he will still be undefeated."
