Unfortunately, Jones, but not by much. Beating Toney when he did was more impressive than Joe clowning Glass Jaw Roy when he did, and then you have both of them with good wins over B-Hop. Edge to Roy.
Dude he's just a troll, there's no need to ask him legitimate questions. Look at his av. His main troll victims at the moment are Roy Jones fans. Soon he's gonna change his av to a picture of Floyd Mayweather crying and start trolling *****s. Just ignore him man
See people? MetalMandible is getting nervous so now he's trying to use his alts to attack me. Just ignore them people
Stop it. . Roy Jones was not the greatest ever "in his prime." That's such horse ****. . You can't pick out a portion of a boxer's career, and make up hypothetical wins for him. . . Jones had two great wins in his career: Prime Toney, and green, but "primed enough" Hopkins. . . These two wins alone do make him a hall of famer. He had a few other decent wins of former paper champs, and journeymen. . . Two areas he was the goat in: glassiest chin, and most pure athleticism/reflexes. . . But in a sport like boxing, that is already so subjective, you can't pick a few years out of a boxer's career, and say "in this time period he was the best ever"; rather, you must look at the totality of a boxer's career, from start to finish. Longevity is one aspect that makes the ATGs, the ATGs. . . Roy is probably somewhere in the 80's as far as the top 100 boxers of all time. . . Maybe. . . One thing I've noticed: Jones fans, and Tyson fans are worse than any other group of fans there is hwen it comes to overrating their boxer.
This. . . Spadafora, you good sir, are also one of the best posters here. :thumbsup All the chin checkers, and checker affiliates are solid posters. . . Except that Armcl dude, or however you spell his name. . Who tries to tailgate the Checkers. . . Here on ESB, we talk chins.
160 SRR LaMotta Burley Hagler Monzon Greb SRL McClellan Possibly Hearns, as well, but not sure because of his own Glass Jaw. 168 This was, to me, Jones' best weight and I am not sure what would happen in fights with Collins, Eubank, Benn, Kessler, and Prime Calzaghe but they would have been far better than the fights that Glass Jaw Roy did give us. 175 Conn Foster Spinks Moore Charles I would also give Tunney and DM a chance, as well, but I am not entirely confident on these.
I'll ask you again. Why would I need more than one account to post my opinion when I don't give a flying **** whether you like it or not? If I start nuthugging Glass Jaw Roy will that make me an alt of yours?
Roid Jones has no chin.. None.. He spent his entire career fighting sewer and construction site workers, cab drivers and police officers, while being roided up to his eye balls. Roy Jones' nuthuggers believes that he is the greatest ever because he beat down and made fool of bums.. How pathetic.. Good job ducking all your tough opponents Roy.
Couple of points regarding your analysis of Jones in comparison to Mayweather. Yes, Jones' prime was there and gone before Floyd's and his style was not conducive to older age, but that isn't up for debate in this thread. We are talking about Roy in his prime. The fact of the matter is: 1) Roy is his prime was much, much more dominant than Floyd. To the extent HBO was continually pushing him to jump up higher and higher in weight classes (ie heavyweight). What needs to be realized is that Roy was really a SMW who hung around LHW for the majority of his career and beat up guys quite obviously naturally much larger than him (see: Virgil Hill, Richard Hall, Clinton Woods, etc). Contrast that with Floyd who has made a habit of drawing fighters from lower weight classes up to fight (see: Hatton, Marquez,Ortiz -- yes I know he was large, but only one previous fight at welter -- now talks of Khan, etc). That makes Roy's accomplishments and resume all the more impressive. Floyd also doesn't have a top-3 p4p fighter in his resume like Roy does (Toney). Please don't mention Floyd fighting Marquez because we all know that was a sham, and a self-confessed "tune-up" for Floyd. 2) Roy didn't go on vacation 10 months per year and take a "retirement" for two years while the division he fought in was at its peak. That dubious distinction belongs to Floyd and Floyd only. How anyone can put Floyd ahead of Roy prime for prime is beyond comprehension.
