You're right, they aren't comparable, but where your wrong is when you think the outcome would be different. Did Foreman have ANY trouble with Frazier? Answer: No Would Foreman have any trouble with Tyson? yes, more than Frazier and he could even lose to Tyson, but he has way more power than Tyson (just watch his KO's) and he be in a better position to hurt Tyson than the other way around. I'd pick Foreman in the mid to late rounds myself. Normally a fighter has to hit Tyson with combinations to slow him down, but Foreman is the exception. THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE IN THIS FIGHT.
Foreman the olympic gold medalist and 2 time lineal champion was not as good a fighter as Tyson? No. Foreman is top 5 ATG. Tyson is top 15 somewhere but Foreman was always better. Tyson had more speed, that's it.
Tyson was not at his best when he fought Douglas he had been knocked down in sparring week before fight. Douglas gave caeer best effort. If Tyson vs Douglas was summation of Tyson's career, I;d pick Foreman--and about 20 other guys from each decade. Look at Briggs, Bruno, Berbick, Thomas, Spinks, and all other fights from 1986-90. Foreman won title, had 2 defenses, lost to Ali then Jimmy Young--what, are his grill that ****in good? How do people like him so much?
Tyson coud box besides being great slugger,. He did not come straight in, and as soon as Foreman committed self to a punch, Mike would hit him about 3 or 4 times.
He wiped out Frazier and Norton, regained the title 20 years after Zaire. On the otherhand, he scarcely ever fought rated opponents for the vast majority of his fights and career. They are very few and far between.
people look into forman frazier and tyson douglas too much! tyson is nothing like fraizer except for height, and at his peak used to roll uppercuts and dodge them so that wont be any great factor. and foreman seems to have mythical power now, no one not shavers, foreman, no one is putting tyson away with one punch! and forman sure as hell does not fight anything like douglas did!! either way it would be a good fight while it lasts! but if i were to put money down it would be tyson mid to late ko.
The "Foreman Strength" really doesn't apply to this matchup. Big George was a 220 pound fighter.........so was Iron Mike. Mike's far smaller frame obviously carried much more lean muscle to make their weights comparable and a case could be made that Mike was as strong, if not stronger. George's pushing wont work as well against Mike as it did against Frasier either. Mike's stronger, heavier, faster and has more than one punch to offer.
Foremans strength would work, he was much stronger than Tyson and would walk him backwards and Tyson can't fight on the backfoot. Foreman ko 8
Yes because Foreman is this powerful machine which would just walk through buster Douglas ramrod jab and clearly superior boxing skills.
They voted for the MUMMY with no defense Foreman, this is just amazing wtf is going on, am I a victim of some king of pranks? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4awVqRr1eCo&feature=related[/ame]
