I never really put much thought into this, but it's true besides Richard Abril (who looks more Latin or White) I cannot think of 1 other light-skinned Cuban fighter.
***** please, Last I remember, the U.S. has way better fighters right now, and in the past. In terms of boxing, I come from a superior boxing nation. Americans > Cubans You guys have Gamboa the ***** that bails on fights, Lara ZZzzz and Rigo the gremlin looking mother****er lol. And um, uh that's about it.
Santana, and the funny thing is all the White Cuban fighters are warriors, they don't fight like their black counterparts.

Boxing is simply not that popular here in the states. If you are not mexican or puerto rican you are basically going to have to struggle to find a solid fanbase. Some are going too deep into this, when is actially quite simple. Boxing is only popular, at least here in the states, in pockets where there is a heavy mexican or puerto rican population. As far as them being 'boring', which they are not, that is not the reason. Look at mayweather for an example, he is comparable to many of the cubans inside the ring. Even mayweather himself needed the help of a mexican/american to transcend into the mainstream. He was nothing before de lahoya as far as most fans are concerned

because they are mostly hype right now. sure, they are skilled, but when was the last memorable fight involving a cuban? who is the last cuban involved in a fight of the year candidate? what rivalry are any cubans involved in? mostly talk and expectations up to this point. reminds me of the filipinos 10 years ago.
It's not really similar, the Phils were all gonna be the next Pac. Cuba has a deep pool of well schooled talent, they just couldn't find a way to turn pro forever. If you look at avg fighter pro rating per country, or win loss ratio, I'm sure Cuba trounces all.
